The sun warmed the meadow as it began to warm the day. At the edge of the meadow a large oak tree stood prominent, while Shisui sat finding solace in the trees' great branches.
Just reading your opening sentences threw me into story-writing mood.
It was either all the students Kiritsugu had or something - they were always earlier than him. It was quite the odd occurrence as the man found himself often apologizing for his tardiness, although he was only minutes, or even seconds off the appointed time. Nonetheless, he offered a steady hand and a somewhat enervated smile as he walked up to the Uchiha sitting somewhat casually underneath the tree.
"Shisui...Uchiha-san, I presume?" he questioned, with which he was met with a nod. "Hello, I'm Kiritsugu, your sensei for Wind..." His voice trailed off as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm not one much for introductions..."
With those words, Kiritsugu's gaze traveled around the vicinity as he shoved his hands back into his pocket. It was quite the breezy day, with the wind just light enough so that it remained warm - perfect for the training that they were about to go through.
"Well, I'm always curious," he continued, turning his attention back onto his student. "Why exactly do you want to learn this particular element?"
Trepidation couldn't be found in Shisui's heart at that moment. He looked at the tree that stood behind him, a light breeze stroked the side of his face creating a smile. He watched the weaker leaves tremble as they encountered the breeze. He inhaled peacefully then turned his gaze to his new Sensei and responded.
"Wind itself has always been a part of all our lives since the beginning, when we are born we don't cry and scream for our parents, loved ones or spouses. We cry for air. As the air fills our lungs rapidly it begins to sooth use. Yes air is not wind in some regards."
Shisui's eyes now turned towards the ground as he continues to speak.
"But the two do go hand in hand. Wind can caress you or shake you violently. It can uplift or rip apart with enough force."
Shisui began to raise his head to make eye contact with his Sensei.
'It is a delicate balance which I intend to use to protect life, bring joy and not destroy." His eyes now resonated with determination.
Kiritsugu nodded, rather impressed by the student's solid, yet passionate words, but the expression on his face remained stoic as he went through the basics as usual.
"You are precisely correct," he echoed. "Wind, is much like water, in the sense that they can be both pleasant, yet violent. However, wind is also like fire, as both are rather wild violent, and can take a good amount of control to utilize properly."
He closed his eyes, feeling for a moment the breeze lashing gently upon his face - as if his hair wasn't unkempt enough.
"Well then..." From his pocket, he drew a single scroll, summoning up a simple whiteboard. "Let us start then. Proceed to pick up the marker and write what you know of Wind and its weaknesses and strengths."
Shisui slightly intrigued by the sudden appearance of the whiteboard, calmly took the marker from his Sensei's hand and began to write.
Fuuton can be calm and it can become violent but one of the key qualities is the sharpness in its nature. Fuuton can become extremely sharp, the more the air particles compress and sharpen against each other the sharper the wave of air is. It can also be as subtle and as compliant as water if a lot of force isn't applied. For example: When you move behind a wall because a large just of wind is blowing sand every. The wind will hit the wall and go around/up/down it, but it will not go through it. Fuuton has many various natural uses which sometimes can be overlooked. For example: If the user creates a simple gust of wind rising from the ground and then launches it at his opponent. It can be forgotten that the sand will rise with the gust also concealing the user, it is one of the many benefits of Fuuton. Wide scale fuuton attacks will generally reduce the amount of strength it has behind it, due to the user having to spread his chakra. Small scale attacks are more potent when in comes to impact but can be dodged quite easily if they lack in speed (Generally compressed or narrowed fuuton is used for that.). In regards to it's weakness which is Katon/Fire. Katon is it's weakness due to the fact that fire uses oxygen to grow. The overflow of wind pushes oxygen into the flame making it engulf the wind and allows it to grow more rapidly. (This is not always the case though certain levels of wind can extinguish or nullify the flame depending on the winds strength.) Fuuton is extremely effective against lighting due to the fluctuating, strong, fast air particles which act like an insulator against the lightning. Fuuton is a great combinational element, due to the fact that it works with other elements. Using Fuuton and Suiton will increase the waters viscosity allowing it to hit faster and harder. It works well with fire for obvious reasons and when it comes to Doton, Fuuton can help increase speed and propel rocks and boulders. Fuuton is very convenient because air is generally around us, unlike suiton which certain jutsu require a water source to use.
Shisui then turned to face his Sensei and in a slightly casual manner said
"I have written a few basic examples but I am hoping that this will be enough to represent my knowledge of using Fuuton Sensei."
Feeling quite uncertain about what he had written Shisui stepped back allowing his Sensei to take a look.
Kiritsugu took a couple steps back, reading with full concentration the words Shisui had written upon the board. Silence fell between them for a few comfortable moments until the sensei nodded his full approval, the sign of an ever so rare smile appearing on his face.
"It appears that you have put quite the thought into such an element already," he told him. "There is not much else I can cover, as you've already written down the basic formula Wind - furthermore, much of the usages of Wind in there we shall soon go over."
He offered a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his head with a single hand. It was quite rare for him to stumble across such an intelligent, dedicated student.
"I guess one last thing I'd add is the situation of the Fire overcoming Wind, as you stated. If your opponent used a C-Rank Fire against your C-Rank Wind, then it easily counter and consume yours' and become B-Rank, so please be careful of such happenings."
With quiet steps, Kiritsugu walked over to a tree, scanning over it for a long moment before picking off a leaf and then handing it to Shisui. "Attempt to cut that leaf with your chakra," he instructed. "It is a simple exercise, yet is full of meaning and experience."
Shisui attentively listened to his sensei's words with deep understanding. Shisui then accepted the leaf from his experienced senior and began to stare down on it. His thoughts were not on cutting the actual leaf but on the shape of his chakra. Focused while remembering wind contains sharp fluctuating air particles. Shisui then let his chakra run down his arm, focusing hard on the opposing lacerative nature his chakra requires to do cut something. Thin sharp close lines of chakra rubbing indirectly to their neighbouring lines in a single grouped cut.
Shisui remarked "I can do this." Without losing focus the leaf then split in half directly in the centre. A smile resonated from Shisui as he put each half into their corresponding hands, then gestured the split leaf to his sensei with open hands.
Watching someone take their first steps in the training world was always a source of fascination for Kiritsugu. There was nothing but absolute concentration on Shisui's face, reminding him of his first steps into the shinobi life. Pure determination and motivation - these were necessary for one to achieve much in this world.
The blurred image of Shuisui eventually straightened, snapping him back to his senses as wide smile spread across the features of his student. Silently, he showed, showing the results of his effort.
Kiritsugu nodded his approval, reaching out delicately to run his hand over the sliced leaf. "Well done," the sensei said. "You now know what it is like to feel wind, be wind..."
With steady steps, he made his way to the stop of the hill, spreading out his hands as he did so. "As said before, Wind is all around us!" he called from the top of the hill. "Now, from your position, begin to gather the Wind around you with your own chakra. Accumulate enough force so that the dust of the very ground is also picked up. Then, send all of that at once at me over here!"
Shisui's eyes widened at the demonstration his sensei had just given him, the unpredictable behaviour amused Shisui. He then felt the wind gently blow past his ears and in that moment he instantly remembered why he was here. He extended his arms slightly then opened the palms of his hands. He felt the breeze pass the palm of his hand and held onto that feeling. "I need to remember this gentle feeling, extend and intensify." His facial expression resonated a deep level of concentration. He inhaled pushing chakra down both arms forming at the base of his palms. He then remembered the same lacerative nature of the chakra he used to bisect the leaf. He amplified this release of chakra then placed his hands perpendicular to the light top soil beneath his feet. Opening his eyes staring at his sensei at the top of the hill, never taking his eyes off the destination for a second. He then extended the sensation as if he were dropping a net just catching the surface of the sand.He then aimed his palms northerly and thrust his hands forward which created a gust of wind which swept the sand next to him. It had a roll-on effect making the sand pile up as the current proceeded uphill towards his sensei. "This has to make it." He said to himself as the gust of wind accelerated upwards.
Adachi chuckled softly at the eagerness of his student, peering down at him as Shisui flung his palms out before him in a concentrated manner, perhaps to catch the very manner of Fuuton itself. The Wind began to flow rapidly, collecting fallen leaves and dust along with it as the force of the jutsu began to travel towards Adachi.
He implanted his foot firmly into the ground, applying chakra, as he raised an arm across his face in order to lessen the impact of the Wind. His ears filled with the sound of trees blowing and the air whistling.
"Remember several things!" Adachi yelled over the noise. "First, there are three ranges in battle! Short range goes from 0-5 meters, mid to 5-15, and long to 15-25+! It is important to keep this in mind as you may forgot and use a jutsu that does not affect your opponent because it couldn't reach him!
Another important battle aspect is the sound! The sound alerts you to incoming moves, but can also serve as a distraction if you're trying to hide another one! A loud jutsu like this can allow you to sneak up on the opponent while he is distracted.
This jutsu is a short range jutsu, designed mainly to throw your opponent off balance. Furthermore, it is also to blind them due to the dust in the wind you collected. There are many ways to use this, but I am sure you have the creativity and knowledge to come up with the ideas!"
The jutsu passed over Adachi, mingling into the air beyond him, fading away into the distance. Exhaling softly and rubbing his eyes, Adachi stepped back down towards Shisui.
"Now, do you know how a tornado forms?" he questioned.
(Fūton: Fūsajin no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Dust Wind Technique
Type: Defence
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user creates a gust of wind that layers an area in loose sand and dust. Doing so also acts as a sandblaster on the surrounding area. This layer of sand that accumulates on the trees during this technique makes it difficult for others to get a good footing. The initial gust can also temporarily blind opponents by lodging sand in their eyes.
Congratulations on learning your first Wind jutsu!
Shisui smiled knowing that sound can be fuuton's biggest strength and weakness.(Depending how it's used) Happy that his sensei reminded him of this because he always knew that understanding that aspect completely will allow him to use the element correctly. The question made Shisui laugh a little as he watched the dust settle. "Well, I know enough to get by. Tornadoes are formed by changes in temperature and pressure in the atmosphere. High and low air pressures interact with each other, the low internal pressure pulls and forces the high air pressure to form a vortex allowing the tornado to take form. The centre point is both a friend and foe because one can make the tornado dissipate, if right amount of force is applied in this area. But it is also where the tornado is most volatile. Warm moist air allows tornadoes to sustain their shape if I am not mistaken and can allow it to increase its intensity. I assume this is the nature your chakra has to be in order to create one? A complex combination to create a stable and simple result." Shisui hoped his answer was sufficient enough and waited with bated breath for his Sensei's response.
"You are correct," Adachi replied with a smile, placing out his two hands in front of him as an example. "To summarize: A tornado forms when two opposite Wind currents, one hot, and one cold, begin to rub against one another." He moved his hands in a slicing manner before him. "The warm air eventually twists into a spiral and forms the funnel cloud that we all associate with a tornado."
He stood up, indicating the space before Shisui.
"Now, try and do that with your own chakra, but don't put too much chakra into it. Put in just enough so that there is a small spinning wall of wind before you. Do your best to maintain control."
Sorry about the delay Sensei..

Question : When creating the tornado, there is top hot air pressure and low cold air pressure. When it comes to forming the tornado with your chakra is the amount of chakra distribution between the high and low directly proportional?
Ok will see what I can do..

Shisui widened his stance, extended his arms, opened his hands and then began squat low. "I need to get a really good feel for this" Then feeling slightly uncertain he raised his hands to a hight just above his shoulders and began to close his eyes to increase his concentration. The sensation of distributing his fuuton chakra in such a manor made is skin tingle, yet this was a necessary measure and forgetting his reasoning behind his journey was unavoidable. He inhaled, then shot his chakra down his forearms and into the palms of his hands. He then exhaled distributing his chakra allowing it to circulate just above the ground. He then opened his eyes and eased his fluctuating chakra into the atmosphere above the currently low circulating chakra. With his mind simply now on sustaining the two released forms of chakra. He slowly began to rise as he noticed the air begin to gravitate towards his already current fuuton chakra. The cyclonic rotation of the low air began to open an atmospheric vortex in front of Shisui's face. A smile began to grow as he witnessed the two opposing sets of chakra synchronise allowing a solidly formed tornado to be born right before his eyes. The sound of the wind whipping and the force of it lashing and tugging at his clothes, only made his elation grow. As he watched the dirt become consumed by the ever growing vortex, his thoughts then returned to the fact that he was not alone. He looked at his Sensei and yelled a little (Due to the noise of the tornado) "Did I do it correctly?"
Like the weather expert he was, Shisui concentrated deliberately - the area in front of him began to shiver, to pulsate, and within moments, a wild tornado had formed before him.
"Did I do it correctly?" The student questioned as the jutsu was held steadily before his hands.
Adachi nodded, taking a few steps, digging within his cloak for a weapon. "Now, keep it stable while I test it out!"
With his right hand, he drew out a kunai, flicking it rapidly at the spinning jutsu.
Out of character: Well, I suspect it would be drawn into the vortex like most things when it comes to tornadoes. But this is all relative to the velocity the kunai is thrown at and the cyclonic force the tornado has. Example: If you put chakra into your kunai and my tornado is pretty weak as I expect it to be currently. The kunai would fly straight through the vortex and impale me.(The kunai would experience some resistance as it travels through the tornado.) But if the tornado had a little more force behind its rotations, the kunai would still fly through but its trajectory would be off and there would be a chance of it not hitting me at all and landing a few centimetres/inches off. (Similarly like light refracting in water or a bullet transcending from air to water.) Now if you toss it in with almost no force then it will be sucked up and rotate in the tornado for a few revolutions then be 'shot' out of it. If the tornado is moving the releasing effect of the kunai is enhanced even further.(Less time within the vortex) Attention to detail is critical here. (Realism)
"Given that it is a regular kunai, with a regular human's force behind the throw, then, yes, it will be reflected back," I responded. "That is precisely the whole idea behind this jutsu. A mere defensive technique. However, if the kunai has an explosive tag on it, you yourself would be damaged as well."
He took a few steps, testing his footing against the ground, and then begun running in a frontal direction. However, he suddenly turned back around, releasing a strong stream of Wind chakra from his mouth, aimed at the ground.
Because it was aimed in a 60 degree angle towards the ground, Adachi was propelled into the air at that very angle. It also kicked up quite a bit of dust from the ground, misting the entire training area.
"Replicate my move!" he called from the air. "And describe what you think this jutsu might be for."
(Fūton: Sensougouheki) - Wind Release: Rumbling wind wall
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: User creates a wall of spinning wind in front of him that is used to push back weapons thrown towards him. It can also be used against taijutsu close range attacks, but the wall can be pushed back with a stronger wind jutsu or if a smoke bomb or explosive tag touches the spinning wind they will automatically get activated because of the sharpness of the wind element, damaging the user also.
Shisui's eye widened as he witnessed the gravity repelling feat. "Well, that can be used for evasive maneuvers like you just demonstrated. It can also be used to protect you from certain weapons thrown at you that don't carry too much weight behind them. In close combat it is extremely useful due to the fact, it requires no seals and when you feel like you are being over powered or just want to damage your opponent and catch him or her off guard you can just eject the stream of wind at them, surprising them and maybe propelling them slightly or giving you a moment to escape. My personal favourite part is the fact that the wind is sharp enough to cut a smoke bomb or explosive tag. This can be so useful to confuse your opponent. It enhances the usage of a smoke bomb dramatically. Instead of throwing a smoke bomb at your opponent in this case (Mid range), to cloud his vision. You could flip the bomb right in front of you( An arms length away from your face.)then release the stream. The stream will trigger the bomb and instead of clouding your opponent in a cloud of smoke you can cover him in a smokescreen. (The smokescreen should be big enough to conceal yourself in it, if it suited you.)
"An excellent response," Adachi confirmed. "However, you actually focused more on the offensive aspects of it, while its defensive aspects are also a strong asset. If you were find yourself in trouble, such as being thrown into the air after a deadly jutsu, you can have a safe landing with this. You can also easily avoid Earth jutsus that come directly from the ground with this." As gravity eventually pulled him back on the ground, Adachi landed easily, finding his proper footing upon the ground once more. "You pretty much covered everything, so, for this next jutsu," he said. "As I am sure you have a good feel of Wind by now, so begin by charging that chakra not out of your mouth, but into your hands.
And like pressure being built up, build the very Wind Chakra you have within your hands and clap them together, palm to palm. Then, when you feel that you have enough power within the jutsu, release it all at once!"
(Fūton: Kaze Ogawa no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Wind Stream Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique allows the user to change direction in mid-air at high speeds by simply blowing wind out their mouth. The user can also use this technique by blowing it at the ground and causing a dust cloud to rise, concealing the users location and movement.
