Well,firstly it creates a large opening giving you offensive advantage. By restricting the opponents movements you have almost free range of angular offensive maneuvers. The possibility of the opponent destructing/disturbing you next offensive move is drasically decreased in seconds. Paralyzing genjutsu allows you to lay out a series of attacks that can be executed and reach your target if the following movement have been well thought out. Paralyzing genjutsu can also restrict the opponents focus and vision so hidden peripheral attacks have a high chance of success. Depending on the nature of the genjutsu specifically this one, it hinders the opponent from forming handseals so counters like kai if the users description is adequate enough can logically prevent the usage of kai to counter it. Paralyzing genjutsu are usually countered with nagashi but that can be used to your advantage with your following techniques, because of the fact that the user is presently distracted by the paralytic illusion so your following attacks with nagashi and freeform pain induced counter in mind can get you a large advantage over the opponent.They are great in tight corners and literally shift the tempo and advantage of a fight in seconds, especially if you are being overpowered.

Also note that though kai won't help in breaking it, paralyzing genjutsu is very easy to notice essentially.

Now perform the 3 hand seals and extend your chakra to my clone and create an illusion that his body is being swollen up like a balloon obliterating any joint movements.
Since his brain interprets it as if his body is really swelling, it paralyzes the opponent due to lack of movements at joints (the opponent cannot move or make hand seals).

"Yosh!" I stand firm staring into the clones eyes and rapidly form Ram -> Horse -> Rat, the clones instantly starts to feel a large swelling/inflation sensation. As his body begins to swell drastically instantly startling the clone. The rapid swelling hinders his appendages from movement this sensation continues making him have more of a buoyant shape, whilst hindering him more and more until the clone is nothing more but an extremely large oval shape in his mind. Whilst in reality he is simply stuck standing still..
Ya.. The target will be paralyzed I agree but given the situation that my clone is running and in the illusion his body swells up preventing any joint movements while the clone is running so he will be paralyzed and simply fall on the ground - which will again give you an opening.
When used on a standing opponent, they will be paralyzed and stand still but when used on a running opponent, the opponent will be paralyzed and fall in his stead. Got it?
