Hey ^_^
This is my first One Piece theory.
Basically in the most recent chapter we find out that ten years ago Doflamingo brought a fruit user to Dressrosa when he took up the throne? The fruit user turned some of the inhabitants of Dressrosa into toys.

Maybe instead of the humans literally being turned into toys, they were given some sort of personalities? Who have we seen with the ability to switch personalities? Trafalgar Law. Back on Punk Hazard we saw him switch around some of the Straw Hats personalities with one another. He could have given peoples personalities to inanimate objects as well?

I did the maths and ten years ago would make Law 16. He could have been with Doflamingo back then? Plus he could have eaten the fruit, we have seen Luffy with the Gomu Gomu no Mi from an age way younger than 16.

Having it turn out that Law did this would also cause allot of friction with in the alliance as well as numerous members of the Straw Hats already not completely trusting Law. I would love to see with how Luffy would deal with this news.

Some people are saying that the woman from the Thousand Sunny is the one with the power but from the looks of things her ability seems to revolve around art or taking away somethings ability, notice how Nami and the rest were saying 'Thousand Sunny wont be able to function as a ship anymore'. Just a thought aha

Thanks for reading :p

Law doesn't change personalities. He switches people's hearts (their personalities change aswell lol). In order to turn someone into a toy he would have to take their hearts and put it in a toy. Don't know if it could work byt hey, i'm not Oda.

Overall a well thought out theory.

Hm. I don't think so.
There's a possibility that he can transfer the personality/soul of a human into an object. But what about the bodies of the persons he took the souls?
One solution would be to dispose them, or store them. On the other hand, we don't know if a body can survive without the soul, even if it's done with Law's power.
I personally believe that the toys would turn into humans again by the end of the arc. It's somehow foreshadowed.
For plot reasons, I believe that Law doesn't have anything to do with that.

Ye either the bodies are turned into vegetables or the body simply begins to rot since without a soul/personality it would practically be an empty shell I guess. Therefore that's why im thinking if my theory is correct the bodies would have to have been disposed by either incineration or some other gruesome process.

And I missed the foreshadowing aha sorry.
Where about does it foreshadow they will get turned back?

Well, maybe foreshadowing wasn't the correct word. Let's better say implied.
We saw that Rebecca had an important connection with one of the toys. She also is in good terms with Luffy, she wants to kill DonFlamingo too, so I bet she and Luffy will get even closer.
Franky got pretty close with the toy too, and he is assisting the Strawhats in their cause.
Knowing Luffy and the rest of the crew, when they find out that something that bad happened, they would want to fix it, it happens all the time, it's like a pattern for One Piece (most recent example, the kidnapped children in Punk Hazard).
So, I don't have any manga facts to back this up, it's just a speculation, but I am certain that the Strawhats would want to turn the toys into humans again. And knowing them, I say they will succeed.

You have a big point there. And that is most likely to happen. I wouldnt mind having Rebecca and the soldier join the crew but the soldier being a toy xD that would be so good imo.

Maybe the bodies are used to make the smile... Who knows?

Sorry, I think this theory is wrong. I think the one behind all this is the same person who changed Nami and Chopper into square-like beings (Probably toys).
