Everyone needs to understand how hard is to be a mangaka. People love to bash on them just because the mangakas dont always put on the stories stuff that would please all the readers. Key word there; "all". There is a plan in their heads and they act upon it. If they didnt follow it then it would have been pure fan service. But for how long would you like to read a manga that doesnt have any plot twists, any surprises for you or even anything that would keep you on your toes and actually make you wait for the next chapter? I would advise anyone that hasnt read / seen Bakuman to go and read / watch it. That manga / anime is far from a standard battle manga or a very long published one but it will give you a few hints on how mangakas do their work and live every week. Kubo and many others are continuing publishing their work for five, ten or more years. That itself is an amazing feat and imho it isnt fair to judge their works with a simple "He is a bad mangaka". I wonder how many of the readers would actually be able to get published for a work of theirs.
Back to the topic. I find the way the story is unfolding to be ok and it still keeps me hooked after all these years. The only thing i find irritating is that the past few weeks the number of pages seemed low (although u have to take in account some double pages that are being shown as one). Apart from that i still enjoy the manga cause it has all the elements that a manga should have. Its meant to entertain the reader and thats what it does (f.e. Hiyori's and Hirako's fun moments, screentime of multiple characters like Zaraki Soifon and the rest, progression with the story, Ichigo making his move and last but not least good quality on the drawings). So for me if u dont like th current pacing u can always take a break and read later a few chapters together. Then it wont seem that disapponting to u and u ll find it more interesting in the end.
