why would minato change narutos last name if the war was over.... and it was clear that jiraiya was going to look after him not to mention the third hokage...konoha defeated all of the other villages in the war (all of their real enemys/threats were dead or have admitted defeat to konoha) ....did minato have some secret enemys or group that may have been after him?

Stupid ass thread, it was to stop his enemies from getting to Naruto for revenge. Just cause the war was over doesn't mean that all of his enemies are gone. If people knew Naruto was his son he would be in danger and yes Jiraiya would be looking after Naruto but not forever Jiraiya travels a lot and Naruto had to go to the academy. Jiraiya was gonna protect him regardless but still changing his last name was insurance. Minato had no idea how long Jiraiya would've been alive to protect Naruto.

Nah It wasen't Minato that Named Naruto as" Naruto Uzumaki" ,it is actually 3rd who put Uzumaki as Naruto's Surname,Minato dnt knw abt that ...3rd did it so that none of Minato's enemie's would recognize him.....Only a few PPl who knw's everything abt both of them like Rikage would knw that Naruto is Minato's son..........

When Kishi reveals that the SO6P was an Uzumaki, he wants us to be able to see Naruto's relationship to him. PNJ essentially.

In Japan it's not uncommon for the child to take the surname of the mother if they would have no living brothers to pass on the family name.

I read this thread thinking that it was actually a theory but this is more of a question than a theory.
FYI, he changed his name because he did not want people knowing that the 4th is his father. This is why it took so long to reveal who his father was even if we knew it was the 4th.
