Don't get hung up about keplar. Maxwell isn't any more powerful. maybe just more space efficient. Also i think theres only a handful of maxwel cards out there

The specs look good and I like it, but I would still go for a Mac Book pro, then split it into Windows and Mac...
Clearly he's looking to play games. Pc >>>>> mac for games. Why POSSIBLE edge with a mac pro have over his computer? Besides triple the price what ACTUALLY would be better? Obvious troll

Good boy. I WILL say though, its ALWAYS a good idea to get the warranty. Hopefully your college has great tech help like mine did. Also, I don't know your budget.... but you could always use the ssd as a main hard drive for things you use a lot (the speed different is very noticeable) and then have a 1tb hard drive on the side for your things you don't need a lot

Firstly, what is your primary use for this laptop.
Display at 15.6" is suitable for home use. Look at the weight, must include adapter charger, dvd, mouse, etc
If you need to bring out, 13.3" is conveniently and less weight and in any bag.
SSD is too new, there are limited review, especially for full usage; Office, OS (Windows), etc.
The SSD pricing will definitely go down. SSD and normal SATA (ver3 transfer 6GBs).
SSD currently is still expensive.
There is one name SSHD. It is a hybrid. But most shops advise is no buy.
Maybe request that 512 SSD to exchange to 1TB (1,000GB) unless the system can handle. And add another External 2.5" 1TB USB3.
Recently, i replace the normal HDD to new SSD.
Then using the 'System Restore', it went beyond >4hrs, while using HDD it completed <4hrs.
This is your chose and decision.

thanks :). i am going to be a freshman this year in college so im not sure about the tech support at my school but i have been told they are good and helpful and my budget is $1500. the model i mentioned is $1379 and i think that is a good price for what you get. about the warranty it comes with a one year warranty and i dont know if i wanna pay $80 to bum that up to 2 years. Also macbooks are way to overpriced if i want a macbook with similar specs it would cost almost twice as much

Derek 1st…. what is your problem? you Neg Repped me for my advice… I said that this is very good but just for reliability I will get Mac. However, you did not need to Neg rep me for that because you asked for advice.
WTF is wrong with people these days?
I am into I.T, and I felt the need to help you with my opinion; this does not imply that my opinion is the best or anything, it is just my own advice for Christ sake.
I reside in UK and When I got my Mac, I got it in Canada; so I exploited the exchange rate and waited for when it was super low. In the end I got a 15" that cost me an equivalent of £900 (pounds), where as the actual price of the same specs was £2100 (pounds). So it depends on how you go about the things you want and like…
If you are a Windows person then get this laptop because the specs look super good for that price shown for it, but I will also advice that you buy a Hard drive to prevent overload from unnecessary files.
