Hello!

After 7 years of inactivity and never being really active I break the silence.

I'm really into languages and different cultures so I figured out to make a thread about it.

This thread is for you who's willing to learn something about other countries and cultures. What I thought is that through this thread one can seek for people from countries/cultures they're willing to learn about.

At the moment I'd really like to learn to speak russian so if there's any russian speakers out there, contact me here or by visiting my profile.

I'm pretty interested in Chinese and Hellenic and have been studying them.

One similar thing is both cultures have had immense cultural impact on their respective regions. Greece - Europe and western society in general, and China - East and Southeast Asia.

I am looking to learn Russian, German, Korean, and one of the Yugoslavian languages. Long term goals, there, mostly - within the next five years I'd like to be able to do basic conversation in two of them, as well as have the resources to travel between them. Going to be a lot of work to get to that point, though.

Nice to see people share an interest towards languages with me! Make the thread bloom!

Since I'm interested in people in general (Can that actually be said that way without being misunderstood? :shy: ) Learning different languages and cultures is the way to have understanding about people living around the globe. That's at least what I think. Feel free to express your opinions.

Chinese, and Asian culture in general is very rich imo! Both Cantonese and Mandarin are also on my "languages to learn" list. However, since there are quite a few languages I'd like to learn, these are my long term goals (even tho learning a language is kinda a long term thing (quite a drag) in general I suppose)
