Lan Fan is an attractive young woman with back-length black hair usually tied back in a bun with the bangs loose and framing her face, dark brown eyes, and a lean and muscularly curvaceous figure. Her usual attire consists of black clothes which cover her whole body as well as a hood whihc she keeps up on missions. The black outfit is covered by a layer of flexible body armor allowing her to move freely but with some added protection to her body. On her hands and forearms, she wears fingerless gloves with forearm/hand protectors lined with small spikes along the knuckles. Lan Fan usually keeps her face hidden on missions behind a red and white mask with the Yin half of the Yin-Yang symbol on the forehead.

Personality:
Known for her incredible loyalty Lan Fan is not one to stray easily from her path, if she is given a mission by her higher ups she will complete it no matter the cost. Holding the people of her village and her family so close to her chest she believes that there is no way she can fail, the dependency of so many lives drives her forward and remains forever in her mind, keeping her heart forever pure. If she were to fail in protecting her Kage she would be distraught, it would be as if her whole life had been a waste. Through her loyalty Lan Fan is extremely quick tempered, any insults against her Kage can send her over the edge and release a serious killing intent inside the young girl.

Background Info.
History:
As a loyal servant to her villages Kage Lan Fan is sent on many missions, she usually undertakes these tasks will the help of her grandfather Fu. On one of these missions Lan Fan was sent to investigate a rogue ninja named Envy, upon reaching her destination she immediately engages in combat with the rogue, intent on returning him to the village. Proving to be far too much for the rogue ninja Lan Fan makes short work of someone whom was thought of as a serious threat to the village, managing to deal several killing blows to her opponent without being injured herself, as her first real mission this showed the village higher uips of her abilities and she has been close by the Kage's side in secret ever since.
With Fu still in Iwagakure, Lan Fan serves as the higher ups personal servant and bodyguard as they travelled through the ninja world in order to reach a pre-arranged meeting point. On the way to the meeting the group are ambushed by another rogue ninja named Gluttony, previously friendly with Envy Gluttony throws everything he has at Lan Fan aiming to avenge his partners death however, like before Lan Fan has an easy time dealing with Gluttony on her own and informs him that he cannot escape. Unfortunately, Wrath (another of the group of rogues had managed to infiltrate the group and is able to attack Lan Fan with his swords before she is able to identify him as a threat. Though Lan Fan is able to dampen the sword strike at the last minute and even break one of the mans swords, she sustains severe injury to her left arm. Unable to move or defend herself, one of the hidden extra bodyguards must step in to protect her and carry her on his back when Gluttony makes a move to destroy her. Though she not only is unable to assist Ling (the other guard) as he battles Wrath, but also serves as a hindrance as he must fight with her on his shoulder (impairing his right arm), Lan Fan manages to ignite some of her paper bombs to help Ling escape from the Rogues. Unfortunately, as Ling and Lan Fan flee, they realize that Wrath and Gluttony are steering them toward a dead end. Lan Fan, wracked with guilt over burdening the prince, asserts that with her left arm immobile and her fighting skills nullified, she will only lead to Ling's death at this rate. He refuses to leave her behind, but Lan Fan draws a kunai and declares that there are several things that can be sacrificed for duty. Biting down on her collar, Lan Fan uses the kunai to further damage her injured arm. The two use the fresh wound to the arm in order to leave a misleading trail of her blood for Wrath to follow as a decoy, while they slip into the sewers to escape back to their village leaving the group in the protection of a few normal guards.

When they return to Iwagakure Ling takes Lan Fan straight to the hospital where a doctor named Dr. Knox performs emergency surgery on Lan Fan's shoulder wound to save her life as well as her arm. As she suffers on the operating table, Ling ponders aloud to the Doctors, telling them that he had thought the conviction he carried with him to the battle would be enough to succeed, but that he now realizes Lan Fan had carried much more conviction than him. The surgery goes well and the doctors check up on Lan Fan as she recovers, asking if they can get her anything. She replies with a smile that she would like them to let her go free in order to train and get used to her new arm as she cannot bear to think that her village could be in danger with nothing she can do to help. The doctor promises to introduce her to a great teacher, but when Gluttony breaks into the village and goes on a rampage, Lan Fan must be moved to Knox's house in the village for further treatment while Ling and the other guards stay behind to fight. Lan Fan protests leaving her Kage in danger, but is too weak to resist as she is sped to safety.
Upon getting word from the village that it is taking heavy damage and that Ling is struggling to contain him alone Lan Fan blames herself for failing to protect Ling, but holds off despair with the knowledge that Ling's consciousness still exists and persists in trying to regain her physical prowess. Several days later, when Fu returns to Iwagakure, he is brought to Knox's home by the Doctors brothers. For Lan Fan's failure to protect Ling as well as her depression over her lost skills, he slaps and berates her as her superior commander, but the old man is unable to hold back his sorrow for long and grieves intensely but briefly over his precious granddaughter's injury. Lan Fan and Fu don disguises and thank Dr. Knox for his kindness before quitting his home. The two leave Iwagakure in order to return Lan Fan to her peak abilities, but Lan Fan swears that she will return. (Gluttony's attack is held off and he is forced to retreat once more.)
With Ling and a few partners cornered in the slums by Pride (another member of the rogue group) and Gluttony, Lan Fan finally reappears with a new found confidence and back to her peak strength, bearing spikes around the hand and wrist. She rescues Ling and the others by repeatedly cutting Gluttony, thereby keeping him at bay, but when her kunai are destroyed she switches to her trademark grenades Eventually killing Gluttony but leaving pride to escape.
The group sneaks into the rougue groups camp through the secret passageways underground and decides to split up. While Edward goes off in one direction with Darius, Zampano, Jerso and Scar, Hohenheim opts to go in the other direction with only Lan Fan as assistance, initially using the excuse that an old man would much prefer to be alone with a young girl. However, as soon as the other group is out of earshot, Van gives Lan Fan permission to leave his side and search for Ling, with who had gone missing during the night. Lan Fan is reluctant to abandon Van at first, but thanks him for his kindness and disappears into the world to find her friend. She emerges atop of the tallest building where the group are hiding to witness Ling and Fu fighting with Wrath just as her grandfather is felled. As Ling and Wrath (the leader of the rogue group), who had been engaged in combat, topple together over the edge of the grand staircase, Lan Fan rushes to her prince's aid, grabbing his arm and holding on desperately to keep him from falling into the water below. However, Wrath grabs onto Ling's other arm to stop his own plummet and the combined weight becomes too much for Lan Fan's previously injured arm and it begins to pain severely under the strain. When blood from Lan Fan's left shoulder falls on his face, Ling urges her to let go and tend to Fu's wounds, but the blood is met with Lan Fan's tears as she informs her friend that it is too late; her grandfather has died.

After ridding the world and her village of the threat that the rogue group possessed Lan Fan returns to Iwagakure and returns to her duties as protector of the higher ups. Alongside Ling this is where she remains.
Other:
Swift Release: Born with this unique Kekkei Genkai Lan Fan is able to use her chakra to move her body at untraceable speeds as well as to make other objects move at said speed.
