Dark release in truth are these seals here on my palms. These seals allow me to absorb chakra in all forms and store it within a separate dimension so to speak in my body for later usage. The stored chakra gets converted into dark chakra at which I can release at any time I choose from my palms. I also know whilst I can absorb the chakra from suiton and doton jutsu I can't absorb the actual material that they created. This also means both doton and suiton provide good defenses against meiton.

"Dark Release in itself, makes it easy to take on properties of energy, ones of a solid nature, not so much. Dark Release basically comes in several forms, with the obvious Absorption and Release distinction. Absorption, deals with absorbing through the Dark marks, usually in Short range of you. While the Release part, usually comes after having absorbed something. It's then released in a light blue flame like state, causing intense burning damage. This adds a form of duality, much like how the two seals on your hand sit, in terms of Dark Release."

Holding out his right palm Desmond activated the upper square of his mark he would draw in the fire his sensei had created.
Smoking is bad for ya health ya know. Anyways this allows me to absorb energy based chakra up in order to fuel my meiton jutsu. While I can absorb raw and energy based chakra rather effortlessly from what I just read suiton would be more difficult to absorb whilst doton would be impossible.

Holding out his right-hand and placing his left on his sensei's shoulder Desmond would absorb some chakra with the left whilst releasing some of the absorbed chakra creating a sword made of meiton in his right.
The absorption technique seems like it would come in handy during acqc fight and could possibly have some medical applications; no real drawback for it. Now the 2nd jutsu I take it that this is a one-time usage as you mentioned nothing about it being sustainable. Other than that it acts like most natures basic techniques by providing the user with a multi-tool of sorts.

After gathering chakra into both his hand's Desmond would release a shock wave from them. Though he wasn't being attacked he would follow this action by holding his arms out to his sides lowering his stance and channeling chakra into his feet for more stability and activate bother upper seals creating a vortex drawing in nearby objects.
I have some questions about the first jutsu. Is it released through the ground or air? and is a horizontal, vertical, or omnidirectional shockwave. Also from the description, it seems to have some similarities to jyuken. As from the second jutsu it seems to be a form of ultimate defense but if not careful your opponent could use simple doton jutsu to cause it to fail.

Converting the chakra from earlier Desmond releases a blue flame from his left palm incinerating a nearby tree.
This reminds me of my childhood anyways this jutsu basically converts the chakra you stored into a blue flame which would then be release towards your target blowing them away and possibly turning them to ash. As for the second jutsu, its properties are exactly the same as its weaker variant but in this case, makes more sense to use the A rank variant for its higher durability.
