Aizen is a mastermind. Adapting to the situation, that's what masterminds do. If it is advantageous, Aizen would do it, no matter what it is, no matter how humiliating.

Aizen knows about the enemy well, otherwise they would never even meet face to face, Aizen is cautious like that.
