For once you and I agree. Kuzan had an immediate disadvantage against Sakazuki which means that he would have a tougher fight than another opponent on par with Sakazuki. And to last 10 days against your Devil Fruits worst nightmare is proof enough (in my opinion) to show Kuzan was at least Sakazuki's equal and most probably stronger.

Akainu did have an advantage. Think of it this way, if an equal amount of magma and ice are fired by the respective DF users, Magma will come out on top.
They are almost equals I'd say.

Most Magma fro Vulcanos freeze the moment they come in contact with air because it's too cold, Ice freezes it quite fast

kuzan would stop using his DF if it was getting him nowhere.
so i doubt it was natural enemy vs natural counter.
ice vs magma for 10 days. if ice melted every time kuzan tried a technique, then how come the island is half snow/winter?
in the end it would have come down to who had the better haki and strength and i believe sakazukis strength was better by a smidgen
