While I think that the newest chapter of Naruto deserves a lot of praise for the set up it did, there's one tiny thing that kinda rubs me the wrong way...

Before Naruto and Minato did their Father-Son Brofist (lol, that'll never get old), we read that Obito claimed the day after that day would be the anniversary of Kushina's death, ergo, the Nine Tails Attack. He also mentioned, however, it would be also be the anniversary of when Rin died as well...

Uh, am I missing something? Okay, so Kushina died. Check. She died because of the Nine Tails Attack. Check. And apparently, during that attack, Kakashi and Rin were somehow not in the village and were too busy doing a mission that would result in Kakashi killing Rin? Even though we saw that Kakashi was indeed in the village before the attack even started (at Rin's grave even :kakashi: :dafq:) and during the attack, when he, Gai, Kurenai, and the other young ninja were guided away from the attack...

I am really confused here. I don't even know where to begin to unravel this. Can I get some help over here?? :what:

Wait, re-reading your thread makes me think you think it means that Obito would of been saying they died on the EXACT same day.

That would be a big no no. If it WAS Rin (which it wasn't) anniversary could mean Rin died on the 10th of October the year before and then Kushina died on Narutos bday the year after... (sorry if wrong date for Narutos birthday). This would allow for Obito to visit Rins grave and kill Kushina..

Not in the same year. If you remember the chapters that flashback to the Nine Tails attack you'll see panels with an older more mature Kakashi and Guy talking to each other.

I think there was probably a 2-3 year gap in between the events. For one, Obito didn't just get those skills over night. Secondly, I'm sure there is no coincidence that he attacked on the anniv or rins death. That was probably part of the plan. A revenge plot to a degree. To get back at the village for what transpired during, before, and after his death. Obviously he did need the nine tails though in order for his and Madara's plan.
