Yeah something doesn't smell right. Kushina said she'd resealed the kyuubi back inside her before she died. Meaning that even if the kyuubi was resealed she was still going to die. Naruto has the kyuubi extracted and is in a weaker state than Kushina now but if he gets the kyuubi he'd be all better. I guess writing a whole Universe you'd tend to forget some logic.
Like the power scaling in DBZ you just have to shut up, sit back and enjoy the ride don't ask questions about logic. Logic left Naruto the second Madara was revived, even before.
