[Theory] Kusanagi and Kusanagi

This is a theory as to
1. Why Sasuke's sword is called Kusanagi
and
2. Why Sasuke can summon two animals

If anyone here has watched the show Durarara!! then they know about Saika, a possessed blade that when it cuts you it takes control of your heart and once you pick up any kind of blade whether it be a razor or a knife it also becomes Saika accept much weaker than the original which are called its "children." The original is possessed by Sonohara (main heroine). My theory is that Kusanagi works the same way.

Now of course Orochimaru has always been able to summon snakes, but in the chapter in which the Orochimaru got sealed away by Itachi, Zetsu claimed that the totsuka blade was the perfect counter for the sword of Kusanagi. From what we have seen the Kusanagi only
1. Deals damage to any body no matter how hard
and
2. Flies
Neither one of these things is a reason as to why Kusanagi would need such an OP counter.
Unless what if Kusanagi is the key to summoning Yamato Orochi (Orochimaru's hydra)
This would go hand in hand with Japanese mythology because after Suanoo slew Yamato Orochi he found Kusanagi in the snake's tail. So it would be perfectly reasonable if these two were related.

Now as to why Sasuke's sword is also called Kusanagi it goes back to the Durarara theory. What if just like Saika Kusanagi has the ability to make children unbreakable swords that give their owner the ability to summon snakes. This would explain why Sasuke could not summon snakes while Orochimaru was sealed and why now that Orochimaru is back Sasuke can summon snakes again.
To summarize my is that the true power of the sword Kusanagi is Yamato no Orochi (Orochimaru's hydra) and that the reason why Sasuke's sword is also called Kusanagi is because it is one of the sword's offspring and it is Kusanagi that allows Sasuke to summon snakes.

I am not saying that Sasuke's carries the same properties as Orochimaru's. I am saying that it is possibly the source of his snake summonings and might even be a Snake itself.

Exactly, accept I believe that if Sasuke were to release his the is a possiblity that it would be a lot bigger since it may be the source of his summonings.

What translation did you read totsuka is a Sakegari katana not a kusanagi
