Kurenai's Genjutsu.

While I know that Kurenai's genjutsu was countered by Itachi, it's kinda sad that people underestimate it so badly. It's power is great, the only problem was that the one she faced was probably the best genjutsu user in the NV.

(Here should be a link to the manga chapter featuring their fight. I cannot post it so please, open it by yourselves).

Basically, in the panel where she's about to strike Itachi, you can see her saying that it's gonna kill him. Now you may ask what's so special about killing someone by hitting him with a kunai. Well, the answer is simple. It was all happening in a GENJUTSU world. Quite a feat, isn't it? Honestly, so far we haven't seen anyone in the manga being able to kill someone in a genjutsu world. What is more, even Itachi, after reflecting the technique back at Kurenai couldn't use it to it's full potential, since he could ONLY keep her in the reversed genjutsu, while striking in a REAL world.

Now you may ask how I'm so sure that Kurenai can do all this stuff. Well, it's obvious. She stated herself that her attack would be fatal. She isn't a genin and probably had used her technique many times before their fight, so she knows what it's capable of. The only thing that made her look weak is the fact that she faced the best genjutsu user in the NV and a top10 for many people, while being a fresh jounin herself.

So, eventually, this thread is not to troll or stuff. I just want to show how much potential Kurenai has and how cool it would be, if Kishi decided to give her some screentime. I mean, her genjutsu is actually DEADLY and had she fought anyone else, the outcome of the fight might have been different. And it was just one technique and probably not the strongest one (since in NV nobody starts the fight with their strongest stuff).

Hope you liked it and that it'll show some people that Kurenai isn't just a random fodder from Konoha, but really deserves her jounin tittle.

Actually she doesn't. She was standing all the time where she was in the beginning. You can see it clearly, when Itachi reversed her technique. While preparing to strike her, he was shown running towards her with a kunai. That proves, she wasn't near him in the real world, when preparing an attack in her genjutsu world.

Well, she was really confident about her attack being fatal, yet she wasn't anywhere near Itachi in the real world. Just because other characters haven't showed an ability of killing someone withing a genjutsu doesn't mean she couldn't.

LMAO This! Kurenai was good afterall she put Kisame and Itachi in a genjutsu.. It just so happens that she tried to fight the solo king

Using genjutsu on an Uchiha is foolish, i can hardly believe she's a Joinnin after making that one mistake.Not only did she use a easily obstructive move, but she used this move on Uchiha Shitachi who is well known throughout the Narutoverse as the 'prodigy' surely she should have the brain power to process how futile such a move would be on the likes of Shitachi.Just goes to show how marvelous female ninja's are right Kishi?

Ofc you are right. It was foolish. But you know, it was an introduction to Uchiha Itachi, Kishi had to make him look badass ^^
