Kurenai has really even stats and is insane at genjutsu. Yes, Shikamaru has a lot of brains, but he didn't do very well against Tayuya's genjutsu, I think Kurenai would win.

good point...but i would go for shikamaru since experience will make him better against it...actually every battle experience made him a better ninja like the hidan and kakuzu arc...
