1) the fan must be swung out
2)blood of the user must be put on the fan
3)vessel apeares and striking forward

I'm well aware of the prep time associated with KKM and usually don't use it in my arguments but in this case it works perfectly and takes only 3 seconds top. The weasel produces gusts of wind from its sickle when it swings it and those gusts of wind blow away the smoke right back at Asuma and co. He won't get the timing correct in any case for the reasons I already stated above and the fact he has to use a flint to light up the smoke cloud. Well if Asuma has knowledge on the jutsu, it would work, unfortunately he does not. Once it starts coming, he'll be forced to do something but it will be too late. He won't randomly start spitting out the smoke in anticipation of KKM from the get go. You do realize there are a large number of tree logs that will be heading to Asuma's direction before Kamatari manages to reach him? This allows those trees to block Asuma's ninjutsu, allowing the weasel itself to finish things off. That fuuton jutsu would have to be stronger than KKM which I seriously doubt given its feats and hype compared to Asuma's wind dust cloud.
