I don't think it applies because he was the ten tails, didn't obito say being the 10 tails host doesn't mean you die? Not a plot hole, you just weren't following the manga very well. Madara was never the 9 tail's Jin. He was controlling it with genjutsu.

Nope Madara is most likely dying now since gazo is gone... when the Juubi was extracted obito lived because of gazo mazda and when gazo was extracted black zetsu was keeping him alive
