ok so Raikage did said they couldnt manage to take down Konoha
So how did the raikage's army failed to take down konoha & who where the lead konoha shinobi at that time ??????
THE KUMO INVASION ON KONOHA Happened some years after Minato's death and ended on the 3rd Birthday of Hinata Hyuga.
The Konoha won the 3rd Great Ninja war Because of Minato Namikaze. he was named as the Hero of the War. and after that he was named Hokage. so you can guess kumo didnt tried to attack konoha cause minato was still alive. But then after minato's death 4th Raikage lost all Hope in Peace & he thought there is no such thing as Saviour so he became Cocky again and they attacked leaf to gain more power.
Here the thing is Raikage believed in Minato that he is savior of the World but when minato died he lost all hope those he continued the war.
There was no reason for Raikage to stop fighting now that minato is gone.
They launched attack on konoha
at that time i think Hiruzen(55-58), Jiraiya, Kakashi & Guy(15-16), Ino-shika-Cho, Danzo, Uchiha Clan Members, Itahi was name head of the anbu when he was 8 or something, Shishui was atleast (10-12), and others maybe i forgot some ninja Were. they battled against Kumo.
the one who fought A(Raikage) has to be Jiraiya(Sage mode Fuse with Maa & paa). i know Raikage speed is great but you gotta think about it.
Naruto in SM fought One of the Fastest Character in the series i.e 3rd Raikage and able to dodge his attack & attack him at the same time. thats the benifit of SM.
Most of you guys Forgot the Toad Stomach its very dngerous place even for Strong ninja like Raikage if he fight jiraiya inside toad stomach Jiraiya clearly had Upperhand in the fight.
Jiraiya is Seriously Underestimated by many people. tsunade in her slug mode is going to toe to toe with Raikage to fight madara. i can say she done more damage to madara than raikage did. even if she is not stronger she is same league as Raikage and clearly against Jiraiya or Orochimaru she is Weak.
The only time i saw Jiraiya got owned is when he fought pain without knowledge but lets be honest Even Raikage cant face Pain without knowledge. Do you even realise that Jiraiya was Roaming free in Every nation like a boss.. I think Jiraiya is Stronger than A(Raikage) thats why Hiruzen had anbu Searching for jiraiya everywere. Jiraiyas true Potential is way more than what you guys think. Even pain said he would have failed if jiraya known his Secret.
and another fight i think Killer bee(21-22) Fought against Hiruzen, hiruzen already had experiene against fighting a full power Kyuubi and Compare to that 8 tail is nothing, and killer bee isnt a type of smartass to Battle hokage at the age of 21-22. Those i thin Hiruzen Defeated Bee.
Since the Uchiha clan was alive they must be powerful to battle strong kumo ninjas. In the end It Resulted in Konohas Victory over Kumo.
There is a Kyuubi & Tobi invasion : minato saved leaf.
Orochimaru Inavasion : Hiruzen saved Leaf.
Pain Invasion : naruto saved Leaf.
So if there was any Kumogakure Invasion : i think Jiraiya must have done Most Hardwork in Saving the Leaf.
though even if it didnt happened still Jiraiya is underrated just cause he died Earlier. lets think Itachi died Earlier and then Come back to show his Full power & everybody started to say he is Invincible and all. But Do you guys ever thought why Didnt they include Jiraiya in the War plot yet. it would have pain for many people to fight jiraiya. on another thing kishi simply trolled Hanzo & Nagato in the war(hanzo wasnt fighting Seriously And Nagato got badly trolled). and i think he didnt wanted to do same thing with Jiriaya so he kept him reserve for future to Edo jiraiya and the true Powers of him.
