This will be a
really long post & I suggest that you grab some popcorn. I had posted this elsewhere in response to similar thread and thought why not do the same here and get some feedback. The thread is mainly going to take a look into the revolutionaries specifically Kuma & Dragon. There is also the chance that this might sound more fanfiction than theory and in the case that it does enjoy it with the popcorn/butter milk biscuits.

Kuma and Dragon Relationship.

- This is an image of Kuma that Oda drew of him in his childhood:

I had/have done some of my own digging into Kuma and his character is modeled after Ninomiya Sontoku. Here is information on the latter taken directly of :

>Father died when he was 14 and his mother died two years later.
>Placed in his uncle's household. While working in his uncle's land, Sontoku studied on his own. He later obtained abandoned land on his own and transformed it into agricultural land, eventually restoring his household on his own at the age of 20
>Achieved considerable wealth as a landlord while in his 20s
>Recruited by Shogun to run Odawara Domain then Sagami Province. [during a famine period]
>He was opposed by his fellow bureaucrats.
>He was eventually entrusted with one of Shogunate's estate, which was great honor for someone of his low origin.
>Ninomiya combined three strands of traditional teachings Buddhism, Shintōism and Confucianism and transformed them into practical ethical principles which matured out of his experiences. Hesaw agriculture as the highest form of humanity because it was the cultivation of resources given by the Kami.

Pseudonym: Tyrant
Definition: An usurper of sovereignty; the supreme power or authority.

My theory: Kuma like a good number of OP characters had a sad childhood. Either his parents died early on or were murdered by the regime. However just like Ninomiya he grew up & gained favor with the leader of his kingdom & had slowly risen to power. His ideology and principles was that of such that he ended up on opposing the corruption that his nobles/WG did. This did not sit well with the aristocrats. Due to his past as a poor man's child and his great opposition to the leader's aide/nobles he was framed. There might have been a murder/coup attempt & the blame placed on him. This caused him to flee out to sea and was given the name Tyrant.

However, Dragon being the man he is, knew of the truth behind his circumstance & reached out to him as he was impressed by Kuma' strength as well. He gave him a sense of purpose that was greater than his current state.

The Bible

Notice that he has a cross like diagram on his jumper. The cross is similar in appearance to a Celtic cross. (google it niccuh). It is rumored that the celtic cross was made from a combination of the traditional christian cross as well as the pagan's . For those of you who do not know the sun cross is a representation of earth. Earth is another term for soil from which plants grow. Those of you who have been paying attention should have found the symbolic similarities that can be drawn between Ninomiya view on agriculture and Kuma's jumper.

At the same time this might be me trying to find deep meaning in something that is non existent.

Nonimiya philosophy was a fusion of teachings from three other teachings/philosophies. I agree to the idea thatKuma's bible could be a sort of memoir & diary that helped him remember important details as he was turned into a weapon. However using what we know of Nonimiya it might be more. Within its pages Kuma might have recorded important beliefs/ideas that would govern how he would live his life.

[In the thread I replied to the OP had tried to mention that the bible signified Kuma's sacrfise to Dragon who was like a godly figure to him. I disagree with this though]
There is also the cover of the Bible. You might google and find slight variations but one thing is always consistent:the cover which is always a female:

I doubt that Kuma considers Dragon as a maiden figure. The maiden figure is used to represent various things in different religions. Though I will say that it is more prevalent in culture/religion that focuses on a trinity of the father, mother & son. One thing for sure is that if his bible holds any significance in his character Dragon is not going to be it.

Dragons Strength.
*Due to Forum restrictions all I could do is post one video per post.*

Here is Luffy's execution back in Loguetown

Here is the fateful clash between Gol D Rodger and Shiki. Pay heed to what the narrator is saying as well as what Shiki mentions at 0:51 onwards.

A video on Rodger's execution. There is also the scene from OP strong world that shows more into his execution. Unfortunately, I could not find a Youtube video so you will have to look for that yourself:

NB: *OP Strong World was written by Oda himself. Please let the weight of that statement sink & if possible let it take you to depths unknown.*

You will have noticed that in all the videos above there is sudden change in the weather. Rodger's execution (anime) was carried out on a peaceful sunny day. However in Film 10 we get to see an extended version of what happens afterwards. It was stormy & raining.

From the video we have seen that Golden Lion Shiki tried to form an alliance with Rodger due to the apocalyptic weapon he had found. The narrator also mentions that Rodger was not yet the PK. On top of that he was in a situation where the odds were against him. However, Rodger seemed confident in his ability to escape the situation as he retorts to Shiki that he would crush every single one of them. The clash ends in his favor due to a change of weather.

A look back at his execution (Film 10) and we saw that Dragon was present.

Here is my theory: Both Dragon and Rodger are in possession of the same apocalyptic weapon: Uranus. This is my take on the weapons:
Poseidon: A mermaid who has complete control of sea kings. (Underwater)
Pluton: A massive battle ship built in W7. (Floats on the surface of water.)
Uranus. (??), However I believe whatever it may be it granted the user (control over the heavens)

Uranus (the planet) is known for its violent weather especially its wind that packs some destructive force. We also have Chapter 100. If you read it you will find that Smoker is implying that Dragon is responsible for the gust of wind & letting the SH escape.

Dragon is a revolutionary whose ideology is one that seeks to obtain freedom for all. I have another theory about who he is but for the sake of time I will post it another time. What I will say is that I think at one point in time he and Rodger were in contact and was handed Uranus. There is this piece from the manga:

Why would an excerpt of Rodger be used to introduce him? Could it be maybe that he knew him and recalled words which he had once told him or that the words in question describe him.

Offense & Haki

I had long assumed that like his father & son Dragon would be a hand to hand combatant. However after watching Sabo's recent performance I will go out on a limb & say that he may have his own form of martial arts.

In term of his BH & KH I think he would still crack the top tier list even without a fruit/ability/weapon. His forte & what separates him from the rest would be his HH. HH grows with the users spirit which I think Dragon has the best. Fighting the WG for two decades is no joke.

Defense

Due to the strong nature of his offensive capabilities he in turn uses that to defend himself. You mentioned wind but I would like to say that he could bend weather to his will. There is also his HH which means that fodder will not be laying a finger on him.

If Dragon is this powerful why hasn't he brought down the WG right?

Have I mentioned that I think that Dragon knows what exactly OP is? If I didn't there you have it.

In the Great War to match the 20 nations of the WG the AK had three apocalyptic weapons. From the manga we have discovered that Poseidon was just born 16 years ago. No matter how strong willed Dragon is there was nothing he would have done about that.
There is also the case of Pluton. The fact that Crocodile thought he could get his hands on it two years ago leads me to think that its whereabouts is still up in the air. This leads me to believe that Dragon has been searching for it as he grows his numbers.

IMO Kuma was purposeful tasked to send Robin to . If you read about the place you will discover that the bridge has been under construction for 700 years & was not under tight security. He had planned to kill two birds with one stone. Attack the place and free captives as well as get Robin to join his cause. There are not that many poneglyph readers in the world and it would be beneficial if the two helped each other.

He also wanted to ensure that he got a good crop of fighters who shared his ideals and would be willing to lend him their strength.

Underestimating world government is not nyc, they have too strong members with them too and going on an all out war would mean killing thousands of innocent fodder, his own double agents, maybe Kuma too who he still think of as a partner and Dragon is not shown as some kind of ruthless maniac , he is strong and smart

Dragon has no Ancients weapon thats lame as hell to no that him an Roger fought there battles with a weapon. I believe its his willpower or Kings haki that affects the weather. Its fitting for a man like Roger to say the least or a DF

Nice ;)
I think all of it is plausible except I don't think he had planned for Kuma to send him Robin :/ I think he knew about Robins existence and importance and wanted her but Kuma just seemed too under guard imo for him and Dragon to have contact after the modifications got to their final stages.
