Urie is a slender young man of average height, with purple hair and dark eyes. Urie also has distinct facial features; such as the two moles below his left eye. He usually wears his CCG uniform consisting of the formal suit and tie, along with a white trench-coat pulled over when a mission beckons. He is also seen wearing black gloves. Aside from this attire, Urie is often seen with earphones. Like the other members of Quinx, he occasionally carries a briefcase with him.
[PERSONALITY / 人格]
Urie often displays himself as a cool-headed individual, holding a monotonous facial expression the majority of the time. As a Ghoul Investigator, he appears to be very dedicated and stern about his work, to the point where it may seem as though he is ruthlessly slaughtering more ghouls than necessary, which is a habit he often gets berated for. Urie also tends to be quite hasty when investigating the slightest details or signs of a suspect. At the beginning of the series, he had a tendency to execute mission objectives independently, without awaiting the arrival of his fellow teammates, or even requesting their help. This is because he is an ambitious person, and does not wish to share credit with others, as he merely wishes to achieve higher ranks as a Ghoul Investigator. To achieve his personal goals, he is willing to go as far as manipulating his comrades or cause discord within the team.
However, beneath his ambition and cool-headed demeanor is an insatiable jealousy towards his superiors, particularly Sasaki. He harbors a sense of inferiority and as a result, an intense hatred for those around him; he feels that he is in Sasaki's way and that the world has treated him unfairly: despite losing his father and being the top of his class, he cannot achieve anything no matter how hard he tries.
Urie believes that ghouls, under any circumstance, must cease to exist. He also believes that as an investigator, he must never retreat and will fight on even if he has to strain himself. This belief stems from the fact that his late father, a special class investigator in charge of the S3 squad, ordered his team members to retreat while he stayed to fight the One-Eyed Owl, resulting in his death. He also holds a grudge against Iwao Kuroiwa (and by extension his son, Takeomi Kuroiwa), for not fighting by his father's side during the Owl battle. Urie thinks that the Kuroiwa are inconsiderate concerning his loss and he refuses to forgive them.
Later on, Urie begins to lower his guard around his teammates and slowly becomes a more receptive person. Although still rash and manipulative, he's more willing to work in a team and show concern for his squad and mentor. After Shirazu is fatally wounded, he drops all pretenses of a cool-headed and disgruntled persona, willingly showing his vulnerable side in front of his team for the first time. After Shirazu succumbs to his injuries, he's so overcome with grief that he remains by the body even when Matsuri Washuu announces that the One-Eyed Owl is on the roof and orders Urie to follow him. Urie also openly displays disgust towards Matsuri's dismissive attitude despite him being his superior.

As most child, we truly do not remember or recall a lot. In my case it would be slightly different. I remember a lot, I simply do not say much, as most I take it all inside. Probably, it was those actions for which I grew being up stoic, caring only about one thing, and that would be killing, killing... But, seeing your father’s coffin being placed into the ground, with earth thrown up, truly is not the memory someone wants to begin with. I would not accept it. Especially not the faces of people all around me, acting like that had no choice, acting like they could not protect him. ****ing Imbeciles, they only ran for their own lives. They should have died instead, not him. But, it won’t happen to me, not me… I will be strong, get promoted, strong, strong, strong….What is that sound? Shirazu….. Won’t he ever grow serious?
Oh right, the academy days, I guess they passed very quickly. Too boring for me, too simple. I never felt particularly challenged, neither did I like it there. Fake faces, fake smiles. But, I managed to make it, I did. I was able to become what I desired to become. Under an order, hidden and ever so dark and distant, we became powerful. Shirazu, that annoyance became a part of my team. So often, so often did he screw up. And that damned Sasaki, he knows my potential, even the leader does, even Arima commented me on that. He knew what the hell I was capable of. Sasaki wanted to simply hold me back, back it is. He is scared, terrified I might surpass him. I need strength, and in order to gain this strength, I need to…. Eat. Feed…..
I…do not know. All hard I can try, I simply cannot reach it. I am strong, why can’t I…. I wanna be strong. But, why can’t I push more. (OOOOOoooo)
I think, that in times, the past versions of us, when they come to my head, in my mind, I simply get annoyed, even angry on how I used to be. I used to hate that nutcase, didn’t care about him, thought he was a hindrance, but it showed us. He was the bravest among all who we face, among all who we ****ing faced. That gigantic monster of the Jugo Clan, he got me down, and Shirazu…. He continued to push. He mocked me, he begged me. I could feel his eyes, I needed to help. Shirazu... (Don’t die, Don’t Die, Don’t Die, Doooooon’t!) But I was too weak, if only he would have…. “IS it my fault no? Who was it fighting alongside him, Urie? All losses in this world, are due to lack of Power” “YOU ARE WEAK”… He was right. Sasa-no. Kaneki Ken was right. He pushes forward. I needed this power, so I push alongside him. But, in any fashion it may be, I will bring, Shirazu back, and this strength, this monster will help me with it. So, I will continue, I….am a ghoul.
Earth & Water Affinities: Urie has the ability to perform Earth Ninjutsu with just a single hand seal and Water Ninjutsu with with more speed and efficiency than the regular shinobi.
Ghoul Physiology: Being a Kureimoa from birth Urie, and others like him, hold a vary unique physiology that very much differs from the regular "human" makeup. He is able to heal from injuries both grave and minor without the need for medical ninjutsu--not that it would work anyway. His unique body cases medical procedures and medicines to have no effect.
In addition to this he is also able to ingest and digest copious amounts of flesh and blood, and chakra as well as a cancerous sac located in his back, attached to the spine called a Kagune Sac, which leads to the iconic weapon of the Kureimoa, the Kagune.
Impressive Speed & Strength: Well versed in the body arts Urie in addition to his remarkabe agility and speed packs a punch in his swings. This was all due to unimaginable training done during his travels as a means to get stronger, as a result of Taijutsu specialism he is faster and stronger than the average shinobi of his rank.
