Can anyone explain this jutsu and its drawbacks to me? I'm just confused on how Shisui knew so much about it if it can only be used once a decade. Think about it. Shisui was no more than 16-17 years old when he died. So that means he awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan before or around the ages of 6-7, and used Kotoamatsukami then.

Bro the uchiha have been around for centuries, they say madara and brother were the first to awaken the mangekyo which happened like 5 generations ago. And shi isnt the first to awaken it in his family which is how the black (anbu)ops/the entire uchiha clan knew about it. Unlocking mangekyo gives you more than just a special ability but susanoo and possibly black flames. And how do you know that shishi didnt unlock his at 6/7 years old , look at obito.

You can use it once in a decade only in a non Uchiha like the crow. If you're an Uchiha or possess Hashirama's cell, you get it everyday.
