KA implants an idea into your head. So basically if I say "kill yourself", you would proceed to kill youself. Or "Protect Konoha", you would protect Konoha.

Basically, it's a genjutsu that makes you believe you're not in a genjutsu, so you can be ordered around without knowing it.

It's basically inception, that's how I think of it

Yep, I think it's very similar to Inception too. OP, if you don't understand what Inception is, watch the movie. =)

I think it has a similar effect as the sword Itachi's Susanoo had. But I'm not really sure myself.

Itachi ordered himself to 'protect Konoha' though KA, this was in conflict with Kabuto's will, which Itachi was bound to through Edo Tensei. Apparently, KA overwrites that and Itachi was no longer under Kabuto's will.

It was supposed to be used on Sasuke, so he would protect Konoha instead of trying to destroy it.

Nah, not really. You're talking about the Sword of Totsuka right?
This one right?

That seals away people into a gourd as you can see here:

KA just implants an idea into your head. It doesn't seal you away inside a gourd forever.

If you have ever watched dr. Who it's like how "The Silence" controlled humans for centuries. They interacted with you in a way you couldn't remember and once looking away had no idea of their existence. KA is similar, it interacts with your subconscious, planting ideas and commands, yet you are alert and unable to notice or remember. Kind of "directing" your thought processes to the will of the user. But the actions are still performed by you and are what you believe to be your own will. It has the ability to completely alter someones personality and beliefs.

AKA: Inception

^^ This

And for the eye Danzo had, it was different, since it planted an idea in the targets brain, and the effect wont go off until he is aware of it, where as Itachi version directly commands the target as explained above.

KA is probably the jutsu that must be used with most care. Any unexpected happenings can change or alter the command, which would give another outcome, than what is wished for.

Kishi compared it in an interview to Lelouch's geass ability. It creates a compulsion and forces the subject to perform it regardless of complexity.
