Kosuke Maruboshi was a shinobi of Konoha who has the particularity to be a Genin at his old age. It's a filler character who appeared for the first time in the episode 190 of Naruto Shippuden.
His past :
Kosuke was a shinobi since the Second Hokage's reign. One day when he was a Young genin, he failed his mission and some of his comrades died by his fault. He explained to the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, why he failed his mission. He was very affected.
Tobirama Senju said to Kosuke that if he want expiate his faults , he must take a ordeal. in reality this ordeal was a hard training , Tobirama learned him jutsu like Suiton Suijinheki and Suiton Suiryuudan.
Years after
Hiruzen as the Third Hokage proposed to Kosuke to become a Jonin.
But in memory of his genin comrades died by his fault he refused and wanted to stay a genin.
Hiruzen learned to him his favourite jutsu , Shuriken Kage Bunshin.

Then, when minato was Hokage, Kosuke was at his orders, and Minato saved Kosuke life who had lost his leg in a very Dangerous accident. Minato said him that it was the role of the hokage to protect his troops.
Modern story :
Kosuke has been send in a mission with Naruto and two Jonin to Watch the frontline of Konoha with Iwa. It was after Tsunade's nomination as Fifth Hokage. Konoha had to be vigilent during his weakness period after Orochimaru's Attack.
Kosuke during this mission saved Naruto against Iwa's Chunin shinobi , and defeated a kunoichi who was the leader of these chunin.
Kosuke was a genin but had Jonin level , his jutsu :
- Suiton Suijinheki
- Suiton Suiryuudan ( like tobirama he didn't need to execute 40 signs )
- Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu
- Genjutsu Sage Style ( Kosuke move his saber to create an illusion, after he attack his confused ennemy )
It wasn't a good biography , but I wanted present this nice character, he inspired the creation of Might Dai who was also an old genin
