Snakes are one of the summoning animals from the Narutoverse. They are basically signature summons of Orochimaru, one of the three legendary sennins whose proficiency in using them in battles is probably unmatched throughout the Narutoverse. The other users include Kabuto Yakushi, Anko Mitarashi and Sasuke Uchiha.
Snakes are from the Ryuuchi Cave, the place where one can also learn Sage Mode, from great White Snake Sage. Most of the snakes unlike Dogs or Toads can't communicate, though some of them can, as seen in case of summons such as Manda. Orochimaru used snakes in various occasions and used them alongside ninjutsu to give birth to unique part of nin known as Snake Ninjutsu.
Another distinctive property of snakes is that, they can be used to trace the objects based upon heat and smell and catch the prays accordingly. Also snakes can be of any sizes and of any shapes, ranging from multi-headed large white snake to small snakes, which can be used for sneak attacks. Snakes are also pretty durable and obedient, though some of them may resist the order of their summoners or may demand something else in return. Snakes are related to a lot of omens in Narutoverse, such as when Orochimaru found white snake near his parent's grave, Hiruzen Sarutobi told him that it is representation of fortune and rebirth.
Snakes like Manda can have high amount of destructive abilities and if used properly can be a pretty good weapon.

I want tattoo at my arm, that will look cool as well. Rangiku already had the answer and wasn't shy at all in putting what was there in her mind.
She then takes the scroll, opens it, bites the thumb and then signs it using it using her blood.
Ouch, it hurts, but I must say if I am going to get power to summon them snakes, I am up for it. She said that after signing the contract, while tearing a part of her cloth to wrap around her wound so that too much blood won't flow out.
She knew there is a lot more training coming up ahead.^^

Do the summoning hand seals and wipe blood on your tattoo and summon a small snake. Keep doing it again and again till you summon a 100 meter long snake U:U

Rangiku first waves the necessary handseals and then bites her thumb.As a result, blood flows out of the thumb, which she then wipes on her summoning tattoo placed on her arm and then summon a snake which is only 10 meters long. She gets disappointed due to the size and decides to summon larger snake. This time she waves the handseals again and applies the blood to her tattoo to summon a longer snake which is 12 meters long.
Damn, I hope I won't die due to blood loss, before I summon that 100 meters snake.

This is good one, I can use it to defend myself..
Rangiku removed her wrapped cloth and reveals her wound. She takes a part of the blood on her thumb and then wipes it on her summoning tattoo. A larger snake of about 70 meters long appears in front of her and has total three heads. It is stronger than previous one and hence is more resistant towards attacks.
She commands the snake to take down the nearby trees from the forest. Snake follows her command and does so, taking down trees from the surrounding place and causing fair bit amount of destruction.

Extremely fast and strong, his tail acts as a sharp mace that he can fling at the enemies with ease, speed and tremendous power (capable of overcoming even A-Rank defenses). Manda is also capable of using his chakra for 2 unique techniques: he can borrow underground (even if its affected by up to A-Rank techniques), tunneling through the earth at enormous speed or shed his skin, using a sort of substitution technique, where he trades places with his shed skin. While underground, Manda can sense the vibrations through the earth and pinpoint the location of his enemy. Now focus on summoning a giant 100 meter long purple snake. Bewared Manda only listens to people to he respect so if you show any disrespect to him, he will eat you. Thats why I'm happy I learn Snake Sage Mode gives you rep in the snake world Try and not to get eaten ^^

Looks like a bothersome summon to me, but his power attracts me and I am power hungry. I will do whatever it takes to gain that strength of his.
Rangiku focuses for brief amount of time and then wipes her blood on her summoning tatoo to summon a giant 100 meters long snake in front of her, who is also leader of all snakes.
Oh lord Manda, I request you to lend me that power of yours and then use your power to tunnel through the ground in front of me and appear in front of me at a distance of about 25 meters.
Manda due to her respectful and generous attitude, digs a tunnel in front of her and appears at the other side at a distance of about 25 meters. Then Rangiku commands him to take down the tress which are there at short range from him, using his menacing tail, with some respect in her words.
Manda follows her orders and does so, then disappears without saying a single word.

Use your chakra and summon/manifest a snake to come out of your sleeve. Have the snake extend and attack my clone by having it bite into my clone and bind him so you can attack my clone. This is a great and simply binding jutsu tho its strong variant is probably the jutsu you are gonna wanna use instead.

I close my eyes and then focus on my summoning tatoo and try to think about multiple snakes coming out of my sleeve. Then I channel chakra through my right hand arm, while running towards your clone. Once I reach at short range from your clone, I extend my right hand arm in front of your clone and summon large number of snakes which vary in size, from really short ones to long ones. I use long ones wrap around my opponent to restrict his movements. This snakes bite her at multiple places including waists, shoulders, chest etc. While the short ones, which are quite agile, blind your eyes. Since they are pretty fast, it is really difficult to see them coming or react in a timely manner, before they wrap themselves around your clone's eyes.
I, then gather all of my strength in my left hand, bowl it and then deliver a powerful punch at the stomach of your clone, damaging his intestines, while snakes restrict his movements.
This will fix you for good..

Summon the Dual headed snake from your sleeve and than using your chakra have the snakes release drill-like projectiles at my clone. This jutsu was used by one of Hiruko's followers, the one that fought against Rock Lee's team. THis is good to deflect ninja tools that might explode ^^

She then wipes the blood on her summoning tatoo, situated at her right hand arm and then brings out 'dual headed snakes' out of her sleeves, which are really small, but agile enough to appear pretty quickly. She then controls the snakes via her chakra and then makes them release the drill like projectiles, which are total 3 in number and are directed at the left arm, right leg and chest part of your clone's body. This projectiles impale your clone and make him disappear.
Yeah, you were completely spot on, when you said it's use against something like smoke/explosive tags, that is one of the uses of this techniques. Other is, to impale my opponent against tree or something and increase accuracy of my next jutsu.

Like the above jutsu this time summon a torrent of snakes to come out of your sleeve instead to attack my clone. I would use this over the other one since this one gives you multiple snakes to work with than just have one snake. This is also pretty much the spotlight snake jutsu which every snake user in Naruto has shown to use.

Rangiku, after listening to your description of jutsu, runs towards your clone and after reaching at about 8 meters from her, she gathers all of her chakra and then uses her snake summoning contract, to summon forth maelstrom of snakes which come out of her right hand sleeve, within a blink of an eyelid. She sends all of these snakes towards the clone, after extending them out of her sleeve.
The snakes are pretty fast and few of them bite her target to hold her at her position and about 5 snakes climb up and wrap themselves around her eyes to block her vision completely, making it almost impossible for her to see the sight around her.
While snakes hold her down, she removes two kunais out of her pocket and then sends them towards your clone to take down her vital points and finish her off.
Just want to know what is the difference between this jutsu and Hidden Shadow Snake Hands? Since this jutsu gave me Deja Vu like feeling..Rangiku waits for you to explain.

Description: Snake summons have the ability to shed their skin in a manner of body replacement technique which is used for the replacement technique and the snake hides underground. During the battle with gamabunta and katsuyu, Manda used this technique to evade from toad oil flame bomb; the skin was deceiving however it had a transparent opacity, which in between attack wasn't noticeable.
Note: Must have snakes summoning contract.

Summon any snake of your choosing. Once you summon them have the snake shed their skin so that the snake avoids damage from the my jutsu. The snake should shed its skin and then be hidden underground. Then have it emerge out of the ground.
