Senjutsu is the mixture of natural energy and chakra to create a more powerful form of energy called Senjutsu Chakra. Raw Senjutsu Chakra is neutral to everything. Sage Mode users gather natural energy within themselves and mix it with their own chakra to create Senjutsu Chakra and enter Sage Mode. While in Sage Mode typically their ninjutsu and/or taijutsu are enhanced. This depends on which animal sage mode they use.
Snake Sage Mode grants +30 to all ninjutsu and Taijutsu as well as grants a 4x speed boost. They also gain snake anatomy like a tail and the abilty to block their eyes from intense light. This sage mode in particular grants the user access to jutsu like Inorganic Reincarnation which allows them to animate inanimate objects.

Alright you've got the basic idea. Few questions, what do you thin the difference is between normal SM and Six Path's variation? How do they stack up against each other? Also what do you know of how Senjutsu in general work against some higher tier abilities such as Y/Y or Anutu?
SoSP senjutsu grants yin/yang, unique jutsu, and truth seeker orbs. The power and sensing abilities are greater than that of regular sage mode. It also doesnt require the user mediate to gather natural energy. It is better than regular sage mode and senjutsu in pretty much every way.
Senjutsu is neutral to yin-yang release. Raw Senjutsu Chakra is double weak to Anutu.

Description: An empowered state of body achieved by blending natural energy with one’s physical and spiritual energy. The mode heightens performance on all levels by adding a new dimension of power to the user’s chakra. The state is a direct result of Senjutsu chakra circulating through the body. To enter this form, a minimum of 10% of the user’s maximum chakra reserve must be moulded into Senjutsu chakra, all subsequent technique employ Senjutsu chakra until the minimum cost (-10/turn) cannot be paid to sustain the mode. The user is able to reduce 20 damage from damage for the duration of this technique. The user is able to passively sense chakra and his/her perception and reflexes are enhanced by x2. Their ninjutsu and strength increases, empowering taijutsu and other close range physical combat techniques by +20. Additionally, Genjutsu cast by the user are empowered requiring the opponent to use Genjutsu release, of one rank higher than what is normally required (Effective on Genjutsu up to B rank). Lastly, the user gains access to contract-specific anatomical features and other physical feats granted by Sage mode.

There's also the fact that with Snakes you can close your eyelids to avoid some visual based attacks. Moving on

Intense heat such as that produced by the flames of Amaterasu can counter the effects of this technique, causing affected inorganic materials to revert to their previous state.

This jutsu gives the user complete power to manipulate and control their environment and other inanimate objects. It had great distance and range as well while not requiring handseals. Its weakness is intense heat by powerful flames like Amaterasu.
Also does this apply to non solid states of matter like liquid and gas? Can I control water and air?

The differences are the Perfect Snake Sage mode boosts ninjutsu and taijutsu, up to S rank, by 30 instead of 20. And it triples the users speed instead of doubling it. The mode also allows the user to instantly access it but with only 10 percent of the users maximum chakra reserve. As per the rules, CJ cannot be created or used to extend Perfect Sage Mode either.
In addition to those things, it reduces damage by 30 instead of 20. And its amplified genjutsu applies to genjutsu of all ranks instead of just B rank.
Question. The Sage Master specialty states "The user is able to gain 20% more chakra when entering Sage Mode." So if I were to use this part of the specialty instead of the passive part would that mean I'd enter perfect sage mode with 30%, as in 10+20 or would I enter it with 20 percent of my chakra?
