What do you mean Naruto isn't a child prodigy? He mastered shadow clones in a few hours, mastered the rasengan, made his own S-rank technique and Mastered SM all that takes skill. Most ninjas ain't capable of doing things like that. Even if he has Kurama, it still takes skill.

He also had poor chakra control because of Kurama, but he still mastered those techs

Naruto's not a child prodigy, are you serious? He was the worst student in his class and didn't even know how to make a bunshin. His skills are also shown to be extremely sloppy and Sasuke mopped the floor with him in all the classes like shuriken throws, taijutsu, kunai throwing, etc.

I'm going with Itachi. He was clearly illustrated as the best ninja at an insanely young age.

I would say naruto is a prodigy, simply because he mastered jutsus that took others years, in a matter of days. SO he is pretty epic. Plus Naruto is my boy and my favorite character. And being a fan of the Naruto series shouldn't he be everyone's default favorite character or like the one that everyone can agree on liking? and then after Naruto comes the charactor that you enjoy to see or read about the most. And i am a fan of every charactor in the series so i am not a fanboy of anyone. I just love the series in general.

Naruto is gifted combat-wise, but definitely not a prodigy. The major reason he managed to master jutsu's like Wind Release: Rasenshuriken and the like is that he has so much chakra, he can make hundreds of clones to train on the jutsu multiplying how much he learns by a large amount.
But he does have a certain wit when it comes to battle tactics using shadow clones, but not a prodigy.
OT: I think Kakashi would probably be the best prodigy...

it's really itachi who never even reached his prime (about kakashi's age) and then it's neji (trolled by kishi)/sasuke then minato taking out kushina's capturers as a child I'll vote naruto because he's unpredictable
