[Discussion] Konohamaru in the 4th ninja war

Ill keep this short.

Konohamaru should join the war.

He has:
Kage bunshin,
Rasengan,
sexy no jutsu (you never know when it will come in handy xd),
Good taijutsu and intelligence.

and if he gets a few of the jutsu that he has in the anime:
Mass Kage bunshin.
Asuma his fire jutsu.
Shuriken Kage bunshin, that Hiruzen has.

+ give him Enma on top of this list,
than Konohamaru would be a great addition imo.
Much better than several of the Konoha 11.

So what do you think?

He could, but he is the only strong ninja left in konoha, and he would get owned by Madara.

Well as I said in the thread, he would be given those jutsus in the manga .

True. I dont see him taking out Madara xd, but he could be off help. I mean, Kiba is there, Tenten is there , lots of other fodders are there (I consider Konohamaru better).
The Shinobi alliance perform plans as a group and Konohamaru could be part of it.
Who knows what might happen. Maybe Oro and Taka will enter after all (Konohamaru vs Suigetsu? Konohamaru vs Juugo? Those are matches that he can fight imo), maybe more enemies wil come from somewhere?

If Konohamaru was part of the konoha 11, than he would be in the top half imo, so I feel like its a waste that he is just sitting in Konoha, while he could be useful in the war. Maybe the best he can do in Konoha is kicking some bandits their @sses, who try to steal stuff, while most ninjas are out of the village .

Well, then he could certainly have done something :y

He maybe wouldn't be able to take out Madara, but he could definitely take out a decent amount of Zetsu's with that arsenal

Don't understand why he isn't there. He's a genin. That means he's a soldier. What use is a soldier that isn't on the battlefield. Plus they needed all hands on deck for this one. Granted if he had all the jutsu from the anime he's probably chunin level. Hell he's a lot further along than Naruto was at that age.

We're still at day 2 in the war, I doubt Konohamaru will get to the battlefield in time (unless he gets teleported )

You seem to forget that not all shinobi are in the war itself. Many were left protecting their respective villages, including some Jonin (e.g. Ebisu). He can't just leave it undefended. That task may be less glamorous, but essential.
Besides that, he may end up actually fighting - either against Sasuke and Orochimaru, who are probably heading to Konoha, or the juubi's long distance bombs...

I see your point, but Konohamaru is a tad too young for war and he may could use the experience in the war to improve his skills significantly..

but I still wouldn't risk putting out a talent full of potential out there on the battlefield. He could get killed against Ginkaku and Kinkaku, or the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist then there will be no more Konohamaru. No more speculation on who the Hokage could be after Naruto.


Not only that, he is hot-headed and ballsy too just like Naruto so I can see him making one mistake and get killed. He narrowly escaped Pain's attempt to kill him after saving Ebisu.
So I personally would've kept Konohamaru out of the war so he could live to surpass Naruto one day!! (doubt it)

Because as Asuma stated, the children are the Kings they need to protect. Konohamaru may very well be a nice addition (as a distraction piece, not much else :|), but at the end of the war, even with victory, the mortality rate is going to be huge and every village is going to need the next generation to help rebuild and continue to protect what their elder shinobi fought for.

The village needs more than a "few" people to defend it. How many have they assigned to protect a few useless feudal lords? A Kage plus several top level Jonin? Then how many would they want to be at home protecting their own women, children, parents, etc.? In a war against an enemy with unknown abilities and powers, you must assume that they may try to attack the undefended civilians as a way to split the forces and cause confusion. After all, Obito applied that same technique very effectively when he forced Minato to escape in order to save baby-Naruto, thus buying enough time to extract the Kyuubi uninterrupted.

Konohamaru vs Suigetsu, or Konohamaru vs Juugo would be great to watch .

You may get your wish if Sasuke and his band are indeed heading to Konoha, not that I think Konohamaru stands much of a chance against either of these. He has no lightning style to use against Suigetsu, and Jugo is (literally) a beast...

You don't really know about their true powers, the two kids were never shown except as comic relief, but they would not be genin in training if they did not have potential. Ebisu's abilities are a bit questionable, but he is a "special Jonin" not a full fledged one.
