Within the next decade or so, Tsunade will die whether in battle or due to her advanced age. Naturally, Naruto will succeed her as Hokage. When this happens, the leaf is doomed! Naruto is not leadership material. He is an icon, but would be incapable of running a village. Shikamaru may be able to help with advising, but when executive decisions are left to our favorite golden-haired idiot, the Hidden Leaf will end up running on a ramen based economy and everything will fall apart.

Kakashi would be a better Kage, but the Leaf would more likely elect the person who can best unite them, Naruto. Even if Kakashi were chosen next, Naruto would succeed him and then things would go to shit.
