Congrats on the wins guys...I suck at cannon lol

I don't understand the smash tech, the way I see it is it swings up out of the ground (like a door swinging open/close) as shown in the pic and the shape of it. But the way Dante and MB described it as if it raises two parts from the ground then pushes them together (like clapping hands). In this way I would get hit by the "blunt trauma" but not in the 1st one as I said I jumped on the lower part (the part of a door closes to the hinges which won't have much force behind it)..

Lol all I can come up with is that I'm wrong, but if not can someone explain it so this can be a learning experience?

The Mountain Smash technique is much more comparable to hands clapping together than a door.

I agree. It's like doors closing in, and it closes like a flytrap.

Even so, for the jutsu to work properly the base has to move together, otherwise the two slabs would slam together at the top, leaving everything near the base unharmed. I agree that it rises up similar to how a door would open, but logically, they can't just continue on the same 'closing door' path. It's probably somewhere in the middle. I wasn't aware that it happened like that in the anime. o^o

You are right, the slabs approximate each other like a door, but the point of origin (The base) needs to move in order for the slabs to close together parallel to each other. If the base does not move, then you will end up with a "^" shape.

Yea I get that but I'm just going by the visual aid....but we never saw the end of the tech only the beginning

Yet that may be the intent of the move....as I said above we didn't see the end, but still with that I don't think the bottom part of it will have enough force to cause blunt trauma

Also after looking at it again it looks like both halves could be hinged at the same point. When the statue stops them they are still slanted outwards as if they could still close in more

Nah, when it zooms out a bit it's very obvious that they are not hinged at the same point.

The sensei table is in the training grounds go search for training there, just ask nicely and if they state in their profiles that they are not taking students don't bother asking.
