Konoha: 'Will of fire' Comrades or just a corrupt bunch of hypocrites? (POLL)

In your opinion do you that Konoha is a place that truly serves the 'will of fire' or are they hypocrites?

Since we have seen all their good acts in the series, let's take a look into their wrongdoings:

-Children on the battlefield:

Now as we remember in the Hashirama flashback, this was the EXACT thing that he focused on stopping. But of course children were still sent out to fight on the battlefields and can be considered arguably responsible for the current situation now (Kakashi, Obito and Rin)

-Chunin Exams:

In the Chunin exams there is always a guarantee that someone will die. Hence when Gaara slaughtered a whole team in part 1. This once again goes against Hashirama's wishes.

-Konoha's 12 year discrimination towards Naruto

I can sort of understand their anger, but they isolated a kid for 12 years for something he didn't even do and only began to acknowledge him during Orochimaru's attack.

-The higher up's discrimination towards the Uchiha:

From Tobirama's reign, the Higher ups gave the Uchiha the role of being the police force even though they were just secretly spying on them the whole time.

-The Uchiha Massacre:

And of course this discrimination lead to the eventual slaughter of the Uchiha. Hiruzen admitted himself that the whole situation should have been handled much better.

Root were Danzo's secret organization which he used for quite a few situations. They had to kill their best friends in order to completely eradicate their emotions and Danzo can go out of his way to make sure that they don't mention anything as shown with Sai.

-Their use of Amegakure as a battlefield:

As seen in the Invasion of Pain arc, Konoha quite frequently used The hidden Rain as their battlefield resulting in a lot of famine, an increase in the amount of war orphans, and destruction across the land. Their involvement in Yahiko's death can also be considered uneccesary.

So now that I have gone over those what is your opinion on Konoha?
Are they heroes and innocent people? Or a Corrupt nation full of hypocrites?

Well... Konoha didn't exist when kids like Hashirama and Madara were sent to the battlefields. Hardly Konoha's fault, then.

The only thing I agree on is chunin exams. I still can't understand why the f**k did they allow genin to kill each other just to advance. I mean, of course accidents do happen and it's impossible to guarantee that they'll come out alive, but for God's sake, why did they allow DELIBERATE murders of participants?! Like, killing people that have already been defeated just for the lolz. Like Gaara tried to do. After Gaara tried to kill already defeated Lee, 3rd Hokage should have kicked his ass from Konoha forever or even kick him into prison.

The Root = Anti-will of fire... Didn't you pay attentiont to Danzo specifically insulting the will of fire?

Chunin exam = training. You do not have to participate if you don't want to... If you want to become a ninja, your gonna end up on the battlefield, so chunnin exams prepare ninja for that possibility.

Uchiha Masscre = Even taken by a man who did not believe in the Will of fire.


There have been only few followers of the will of fire completely.

Neither. Nothing about Konoha, or Danzō, is strictly good and evil. They serve Konoha's interests first.

We are talking about a very different culture that views the world differently, they have a warrior culture. You can't condemn them for being what they are, heck Samurai view it as glorious to die in battle.

They are doing what they have to do to survive.

Morally indifferent. What kind of control would Hashirama have 50+ years later? The Chunnin exams were developed by Tobirama as a type of refinement for Shinobi. That doesn't fall under the "children fighting" criteria since their is no risk of bloodshed and or mortality. Everything Danzo did was for the village. He was morally indifferent to the Will of Fire but everything he did was for the benefit of the village; hell he gave in to the Will of fire before he died. What kind of control would the past Hokages (specifically the 1st and 2nd) have over the particular discrimination of the 9 tails Jinchuriki? Only Hashirama and Tobirama would have specific knowledge on it and in turn get rid of the discrimination by ridding all the doubt from the people's minds about Naruto; but Hiruzen couldn't do that. He lacked the knowledge and the courage to do so.
