I've noticed that in some scenes inside Konoha it seems that parts of the village are country side like. This being said, just how massive is the size of this village?

no idea who they are but it seems like they're quite the backbone of konoha army as i recall many of their ninajs are skill with sword techniques.

ever head of the saying... "they're everywhere yet no where to be seen."

You can see the Mount Hokage there in the upper right corner. So it's not as large as a city, but larger than your average village. Seeing how it's almost round, I'd say it's probably about 15-20 kms in diameter. The city I live in is roughly 30 kms west to east and 40 kms from north to south, for comparison.

Since they have to have a population of around 12 000 ninjas plus family plus civilians plus retired ninjas and so on i would guess around 150 000 in population in an area of perhaps 100 to 150 km^2.
