I hate to say this but-moron!Tobi didn't go intangible because his mask was destroyed,it was because he can only.remain intangible continuously for a limited amount of time,and Konan specifically set up the technique to detonate for a period of time longer than that,to kill Tobi.Therefore going intangible would have been pointless.So Tobi used Izanagi to survive the technique.
The mask has nothing to do with it,it's the Kamui he uses using his mangekyou sharingan.
