Kisuke is a tall, lean-built man with light skin and gray eyes. His hair is messy and light-blond (almost pale), with strands framing the sides of the face and hanging between his eyes, and he has chin stubble. He wears a brown coat, which sports a white diamond pattern along its bottom half, with a dark green shirt and pants underneath. His coat's design is reminiscent of an inverted captain's haori (white with black diamonds). Urahara carries a fan, which he occasionally uses to hide his face. He usually wears traditional Japanese wooden sandals (geta) and a striped dark green and white bucket hat (which usually shadows his eyes), which has earned him the nickname "sandal-hat" (ゲタ帽子)
Though usually a laid-back, jovial, humble and eccentric man, Urahara shows a deceptively cunning and serious side when the situation warrants it. He commonly uses idle conversation and outward concern to distract his opponents. Despite his care-free attitude, he always speaks politely, but is sometimes sarcastic. Yoruichi Shihōin notes he tends to go over the top with whatever he becomes passionate about. He has described himself as a "mere honest, handsome, perverted businessman."

History
Urahara grew up in the 3rd great ninja war, living in the midst of the huge industrial city Amegakure, though this was also the main war zone of the war, as it is in between 3 great nations. This caused Kisuke to seek refuge with some of his friends during the most part for his childhood, these friends where Yoruichi Shihōin and Tessai Tsukabishi.
Kisuke was left quite traumatized because of this hell he had to live in, but he knew he had to toughen up and become a strong shinobi at a young age to survive and thus after fighting his way through life he has become a strong shinobi and even a wise man with a very keen intellect rivaling that of even Shikamaru as surviving in those situations required not only the strong but the intelligent to survive.
These days Kisuke lives quite comfortably, he's become very laid back, a trait he lacked when he was younger. He owns the Urahara candy shop, a small little shop in the midst of a city with huge towering skyscrapers. Though in his mean time he work developing new jutsu, and making inventions a true testament to his genius.
Kisuke then realized his life was becoming a bit dull and started wandering the world. In his travels he met a clan that he became attatched too, and his new life purpose is too give the clan whatever it needs, no matter what the cost!
