Kishi's horrible writing - Sakura

I have never been fond of Sakura's character, but I guess only Kishimoto is to be blamed. Here is a list, where I think she may have been better developed by Kishi :-

1) Part 1:- Mean and selfish. Absolutely narcissistic along with Ino. But she had more panel time, and thus this was that much more amplified
2) Part 2:- Tsunade's shadow. All originality lost. Just to create 3 disciples of 3 sanins , Kishi seemingly made her Tsunade's disciple. This made her worse for me.
3) 0 character and story depth :- Her deepest emotions are Sasuke kunnn , while others have emotions of loss of clan, loss of friend and parents , being called a looser etc. Her motivation was not strong as other characters. This is where Kishi could have done more.
4) 0 background story :- With so much panel time, we know nothing about her background , how she grew up , the environment , the reason behind her choices , the good, the happy and the sad moments. This made her character appear very shallow in my books
5) 0 influence on the story :- You remove her from the story and there won't be much difference. Sasuke would still leave the village, Naruto will still try to break the curse of hatred , Madara , Hashi etc back story will still be there. The panel time could have been used much more constructively

This is nowhere near to character bashing. I am just pointing out how she could have been executed better. She didn't even need to be powerful if her character satisfied the things above. However, Kishi just kept on making her worse

The way I see it not everone is going to have a horribld upbringing or some crazy motivation for living. Some people just live average lives. Sakura is one of these people, hence why Sasuke is her biggest priority in pt1. She has nothing else to worry about and nothing else worth mentioning in the manga. Does that make for a lame main character, sure, but I like the realism it brings. Shes just a normal average girl that happened to be on the same team as two legends.

Sakura learning everything Tsunade learned was a testament to her ability to learn jutsu instantly, even if they are the hardest to learn, and Tsunade's is at the pinnacle of chakra control, so variants are virtually impossible.

The only thing she need is to master genjutsu which she probably did. Seeing as how the databook list her as a yin user.

Sakura in part 1 was implied to have issues with her parents and her clan(implied by the symbol she always has) is never explained. All because she was unpopular according to Kishi.

Didnt she root for Naruto in the exams and she protected Naruto in the FoD and said Sasuke was a coward unlike Naruto(also in FoD). She thought Naruto was annoying in the beginning but she grew to like him and care for him.

I really like Sakura, but I must admit she deserved better treatment as a main character.

Hopefully, current anime fillers (which I count since not even manga itself isn't everything from Kishimoto's head), and Sakura Hiden novel will give her more development.

For what is worth, I think any female character, despite personality, would receive same treatment if they were main female character like Sakura, in Naruto manga, that is.

Let me give you a few examples.
Rin got killed , Obito got mad , Obito started a war and killed a lot of guys . Major influence :- Rin
Itachi killed Uchiha. Inspired Sasuke to be stronger , for which he left the village and join Oro . Truth about Itachi led him to his revenge against the leaf. Major influence :- Itachi etc.

Now I hope you know what major is. Sakura inspired or caused a major thing. Kishi didn't giver her that

Part 1 Sakura being mean was correct. She was representing the new generation who don't like 'Kyuubi kid' because of the influence of their parents. Along with the story 'Kyuubi kid' gaining acknowledgement from her thus making him Naruto. Goal of Naruto was gaining acknowledgement, she was one of the first people he gained that.

I agree wholeheartedly on this. I mean gaining Tsunade's powers was understandable, but she needed something of her own. Making her stand out from her teacher. Naruto has that, Sasuke has that. So hyped up Genjutsu type if it came to reality would be nice.

I mean, this is shonen manga so I wasn't expecting too much from her but she gave almost nothing. As a heroine she needed to have more influence. She had her moments of awesomeness as expected of the responsibility of being a heroine but like i said not enough.

I started to watch Bleach few time ago, and many people were saying "Bleach has so many better written females than Naruto, Orihime s2, blablabla" I was truly disappointed, the only female I like there is Rukia. Orihime is annoying and worse than Sakura in my opinion. Kagome from Inuyasha is another worse heroine.

All of her work and focus seemed to be around him.

Dude this argument is ridiculous

I'm sure most of us could see removed every secondary character from the manga, and it wouldn't make a big deal. Rock Lee, TenTen, Neji, Hinata, Kiba, Shino and every secondary character aren't really important at all either.

The story consists of Sasuke + Naruto + Villians. No one else gets development like the Main character and Uchiha's.

Otherwise story is about Naruto and his meeting with different kinds of Uchihas


In regards to "relevance" in NARUTO-VERSE..
Sakura is far superior than anyone from her generation except Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara.
