Note; This isn't meant to be really serious. I just noticed some things and was bored.
Originally I believe that Kishimoto wanted Boruto Uzumaki to be the Hyuuga child. I base this thought not on what is shown in Chapter 700, but what was shown before it.

Anyway I was bored and wanted to make a thread on this because I find it interesting. Definitely not going to defend this shit either. So enjoy

Kishimoto apparently had thought of Boruto's name, which in Japanese means Bolt, during the War Arc when Neji died. So first and foremost, Kishimoto had this character idea planned in his head from the get go (I don't have the source for this interview right now but I'll be sourcing it when I get home for anyone who wants to read the interview). Though obviously the name is a reference to his Uncle, Neji.
Boruto's first design for "Naruto: The Last" which first introduced the character to the series, along with his sister Himawari. First I'll show you Kishimoto's original designs for them both:
Now here's SP's rendition:
I think SP transferred baby Himawari into a 3 or 4 year old girl, instead of what Kishimoto intended her to be. This might have caused the confusion between her age in the Movie, and her design from SP. Anyway that aside..
In Boruto's design for Kishimoto, he has a collar, which was removed by SP, but what I wanted to point out in the shirt design is that he carries the Hyuuga Clan Emblem:
And if you notice on the back of his shirt, he has the sideways Bolt. Coincidentally, his mother also wore the Clan emblem on her sweater despite being ostracized from the Clan:

Another obvious point is that Kishimoto had intended to originally give both Bolt and Himawari the Byakugan, but later said he forgot. Again, clearly Kishimoto isn't stupid and he was joking around. But he probably disliked the thought of them having white eyes -- Which funny enough where he voices his concern over the Hyuuga Clan, saying that he should of never gave them all the same eye color.

Lastly, in Boruto's original sketch, you will notice that Boruto originally has the 'lock one' motion that Himawari uses in the Boruto: Naruto the Movie, booklet special.
This leads me to believe that:
I. Kishimoto had intended him to have that one touch, one blow style that Himawari used in the One shot, despite it being comic relief.
Though it could just be something random Kishimoto added too, but knowing what kind of man he is, he always plans ahead :lol
Anyway Boruto was later to have shown Gentle Fist Taijutsu, but his character went through so many renditions that it's hard not to believe it was something Kishimoto had wanted to do for him in the beginning (like I showed a above), but through so many changes he decided to ultimately give him something small in the Hyuuga area just because he had made him different from the original idea.
