Inter: Is there any reason why Sasuke is Boruto’s teacher?

Kishi: At first I wanted to assign someone else as Boruto’s teacher. But Sasuke in <The Last> isn’t active enough (laughs). Other than that, I even want to make a movie with Sasuke as the main character. So for the Boruto movie even though Boruto is the main character, I also want Sasuke to be more active, by having Sasuke as the teacher they would always be on screen together, that is what I thought. I thought of this idea is because I like Dragon Ball, Gohan is Picollo’s disciple no? I think this kind of situation is really good. So by becoming the rival’s disciple, I felt that it’s not a bad idea. This is a scene where I looked forward to when I was young (Laughs). Even though I don’t pay much attention to Dragon Ball, if I look back, in the end it did effect my decision.

I hope it actually happens and the movie focuses solely on Sasuke and doesn't include characters like Naruto because it will ruin the theme of the movie.

Kishimoto is done with his Naruto career but even so he has given Sasuke the MC justice when the Boruto movie came out, even though Boruto was the MC it felt like Sasuke was the one most involved with the plot. From going to search information about the villain which was his first kenjutsu fight with Kinishiki, to taking Boruto under his wing, to rescuing Naruto.

Sasuke has been a part of a lot of events. Sasuke was the character that inspired him to write this manga so a sole movie featuring Sasuke's journey after losing the battle of ideals to Naruto might not be so bad.

Sasuke didn't ruin any of the Naruto movies. If anything, he made them better for the most part, even if its just a 30-second cameo. I think the opposite could also be said.
