This was taken from highlights of the Shonen Jump Festa show last month (Dec. 2012) :

Kishi's secret was that he had destroyed a game machine. monster hunter got him so hooked that it interfered with his job. so he wrapped the machine with packing tape and put it outside and then he couldnt resist bringing it back and continued playing it. To be stoical he broke it in the end. (that said, he bought a new one afterwards)

I wonder if he's playing Monster Hunter now?

monster hunter is a great game! played it on the psp and it's coming out on the Wii U.
Haven't played any game in over a year though

Well not exactly, he may just find playing Monster Hunter as a form of relaxation, but anything in excess becomes addiction and can interfere with one's work

I wonder when he was addicted to Monster Hunter... it could explain certain slumps in plot/manga/writing quality. Sometimes I wonder how much his personal life leaks into manga. Like when he is feeling down he feels inspired and chooses to work on a sad part or something like that.
