After Sasuke bushed Naruto with chidori he should've used amenotijikara to teleport to mid air in the direction Naruto was being bushed to finish him off with chidori.

But he didn't because Kishimoto knows that nobody would think about it.

We all just believe blindly what Kishimoto wants us to believe.

As for the topic, the range limitation makes sense given that Sasuke has a very powerful S/T ninjutsu, but hasn't had time to perfect his Rinnegan yet.

The nerf of his Amenojikara was it having a limit and a cooldown... though that could be because he just awakened the Rinnegan. Now it's probably no cooldown on it and a far greater range than before.
