What the hell is that about? Why replace Madara who was the perfect villain for Naruto with a character Kishi seems to have pulled out of his ass?

Actually, I completely agree. The structure of his villains throughout the series have really sucked as of late. They aren't villains but rather puppets to the original creator. With that, there is no real villain trying to take over what was never there's, but rather Kaguya reclaiming the throne.

Maybe haha, but I've noticed Kishi's writing has been gradually deteriorating as this war progressed and I really wanted Kishi to do good despite this but....he just keeps digging the hole deeper and deeper with plot twist and deus ex machina spam.

He was far from perfect. But, eh. I hope we see something unique instead of Obito 3.0, like what we had with Madara. A few new techniques won't cut it. I want a good personality from Kaguya and a devious back story

Madara is foreshadowed ever since Part I and Obito was his right hand, who also has extremely close relation to Kakashi, and similarity to Naruto to make him very important.

Kaguya is some character that we saw one pannel flashback of, a couple of chapters ago, and now she is revealed as grand-master-mind, but has zero connection to Team 7?
