How about we cut out all character development and other useless flashbacks?

Oh wait, there'd be almost no Naruto series at all. Seriously, chapters like this are what makes the manga what it is.

What character development? The only characters that get development in this series are the characters essential to Naruto and Sasuke's storylines.After that, there is no character development in the naruto manga.One page of the Konoha 11 showing their powers then back to the land of irrelevancy with you all.A few chapters on the story of Bee, but only to show why he would help Naruto break off turtle island to join the war, so it was essential to Narutne thing kishi doesn't do, and that's character development of characters not in association with sasuke and/or naruto.

Disagreed. Off top of my head, just since the war arc we've had flashbacks/back-story of oonoki, kabuto, obito, hashirama/madara, creation of Konoha, 1 chapter was first Kage summit. These aren't really too related to Naruto or Sasuke's development.
