At this weeks Jump Festa convention in Japan, The creator of our beloved Naruto series had shocking news to deliver! Before, we’ve heard that Naruto was nearing it’s climax, but now we have confirmation from Masashi Kishimoto himself that Naruto will indeed be ending in 2014.



This exact quote is: “The Naruto Manga Will end in 2014″. this quote doesn’t leave much room for any possible timeskips or anything that some people are hoping for. There are whispers about a possible side project having to do with Minato but for now those are just rumors!



Kishimoto also goes on to say: “I still don’t know how i’m going to have Madara defeated” and “From the beginning of the series I always thought about Sasuke becoming Hokage”

I personally will be fine with sasuke becoming hokage.
Sasuke seems to want to change only the system of konoha and only cares about konoha, while naruto seems to care about all of the villages. I would be fine if naruto becomes a sage like figure that travels the world and spreads the idea of ninshu

Actually he said he always thought of Sasuke wanting to be Hokage in a other version, maybe I read a mistranslation.

Edit: I suspect he is just setting up the final battle as he says he thought about it, in another interview he said that the only other plausible candidate for Hokage besides Naruto was Konohamaru.

Also I think this interview was fake tbh. There was another one (which I think is the real one) where he HINTED that the manga will end in 2014, because they asked if he would be at next year's Shounen Jump festival and he said no

Fake or real let's get one thing clear. Yes, this manga is titled "Naruto" and it's about some child's dream of becoming "Hokage". But that doesn't mean that this manga is about "Naruto will become Hokage".

From the start of the manga until now, we see a development of different generations of Sensei and Student and what their path turns out to be. Some died, some went evil and some went good and turn Hokage. Take Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade. I'm sure everyone reads and know the timeline between these three so I don't have to waste my time explaining. Orochimaru was gifted and he was going to become Hokage but obsess of studying forbidden jutsu will not be a perfect suit to become Hokage. Jiraiya is also given the title Hokage but he refused as he choose to follow the prophet where he will "travel" around the world. Therefore, we are left with Tsunade who happens to be the grand daughter of the first Hokage.

In conclusion, I wouldn't be surprise if Sasuke becomes Hokage. If that's the case then Naruto will probably end up like Jiraiya who travel around and connects with people, to show people about team work and peace AKA the protector of the ninja world.

No matter how long he's been thinking about it Through out the whole series kishis portrayed you must be acknowledged to become hokage.. Naruto has taken Ashuras route of needing the help of people to do things. He's also highly acknowledged. Naruto will be hokage. Because for one you dont give a main character a dream and have him lose it last second. And two Sasuke is a entirely disliked criminal with no chance of being acknowledged as anything but one of the saviors.
