Kishi should make the novels canon.

I don't see how mentioning one non-canon place ruins everything :| Also, I'm calm. Again, what made you think I wasn't?
That part where I was supposed to know you are not a dude made me think you were not calm.

@bold: Its because that one non canon part was actually made over a movie. Meaning you would then have to remake the movie so it fits the time line etc.

OT: I prefer dividing everything into primarily and secondary canon, tbh. Primarily is what comes from Kishi. Secondary is any official info not by Kishi that doesn't contradict the manga. What contradicts the manga is alternate canon.
Personally if you wanna believe this is canon in some ways. I don't really have a problem with it. I just prefer more of the traditional way of letting the author say it. Or else I could just imagine any filler in the anime version as canon.

I see it to be a similar case to when Kishi adapted Raiga, a filler character, into the manga or used character designs from the movie for Gari, Pakura, Toroi and Chukichi. Those inclusions didn't make the movie or fillers canon.

It's like the Cthulhu Mythos, after Lovecraft died his friend took over writing stories based on the same universe, then other writers contributed their own stories to the mythos.
Not quite. In case of Naruto, all official products under the brand are licensed and Kishi/SJ/SP hold the copyright. So technically it can't be without their approval. In case of Lovecraft, all works after his death are basically fanfics, but they could be published because of different copyright laws back then. Same with other popular authors of old times.
