As you can see here, lightning is forming all over the sky from Juubi's power. I think it's no mere coincidence that Sasuke is heading to the battlefield and Kishi is choosing this very moment to to start this. While it's just a coincidence in the Narutoverse, in the real world, I think Kishi chose this particular moment to start this so Sasuke can use Kirin when he gets there.
