Kishi is a mind fuker, he tries to make us over-think just like how tobi turned out to be obito and all other stupid theories and proofs that other people had were all useless.

Kishi clearly said in one of his interviews, that 2012 will be mostly focused on kakashi, and what this means is that just like jiraya, he will have a few big impacts and die. if u don't agree prove me wrong ! plain and simple.

I dont know where you heard him say 2012 was Kakashi's year, because I distinctly remember Kishi saying 2012 was Sasuke's year (I remember that statement clearly because it was made in the middle of the war arc when Sasuke was on hiatus for like 40 chapters). I dont remember when the interview was, but I assume it was the same as the one you are talking about, otherwise Kishi just likes to troll everyone about everything.

kishi did said that , but i think he meant kakashi being part of the big fight in the war & his friend being obito , we never thought obito would be tobi & that kakashi would be that important in the war as he's right now , in kishis POV it makes sense why he said kakashi will have a big year , also dont forget the killing of rin it has to do with him .
