Actually it does make sense remember he changes body's a lot experimenting, that could mean that he never could stay with a original body thus not being able to master it by changing body`s each month or week whatever time he could stay in a body.Each body gets used to sage body but after changing to a new body he needs to train over again.

Reread chapter 601 she summon Katsyu and had a chance to put her body into one yet she told Katsyu to bring the other 4 kage so she could heal them first instead, Orochimaru and the other two arrival in like 30-40 chapters later where she was still alive and very weak, lost her youthful looks until she bitten Karin to restored herself WHEN DID YOU STARTED READING NARUTO ???????? you should have known this
