So, I'm speculating that WE MIGHT see Jiraiya VERY SOON. Since he brought that up out of nowhere.

Maybe Jiraiya can play an important role towards defeating Madara?

if he does, it would only be fitting for him to be in naruto's head I.E. him caught between life and death/ fighting on or giving up. there would be the only place for jiraiya to fit in.
