Only 1 of these characters is large enough to earn "major" death credit; Jiraiya. Itachi was always going to die, Nagato was a nobody, Hiruzen was an old man with no story, Asuma was a faceless plot device, and Konan was a Nobody.

Kishi is afraid to kill of main characters at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another death in this manga.

Yeah, I agree. I was shocked [in a good way] when Gai blew off half of Madara, but when Madara started regenerating like nothing happened thats when I started to get a bad feeling about the chapter... then Naruto showed up. Naruto saving Gai was complete bullshit; it was unnecessary and completely contradicts everything that has happened the last 3-5 chapters (whenever Gai started to fight Madara).

How many Shounen manga do you read?

Its very rare you get one that even kills one main character.

Its not that Kishi is afraid to kill off characters, he is simply not allowed to do that many in this genre, Shounen is Japanese Disney.
