Karin died from getting bitten too much, either she got aids from some freak who bit her or she just plain died from overusing that technique. Either that or she killed herself after Sakura finally bagged Sasuke.

Suigetsu died in a storm (struck by a bolt of lightning while hopping from tree to tree doing ninja stuff) and Juugo, abandoned by Sasuke, had no means of controlling his cursed seal and either spotanteously combusted/killed himself to prevent himself from killing anyone else or he went on a rampage in the wrong village and that said village put him down.

Kishi cares about them. Unlike the taka members besides Sasuke, those "fodders" you call actually have a full page to themselves in the databook and bios while taka members have a little box shared with 4 other randoms on a page. Kishi is clearly showing they are more relevant than taka.
