It doesn't matter. Shino gets destroyed in one-two slashes while Lee gets his chakra and stamina absorbed to where he is forced out of gates, or he will be rendered unable to activate it. This is a complete stomp.

It took Guy 6 gates to beat Kisame at 30% power, Lee can only do five. He only lost to Gai because of his off assumption that Daytime tiger was Ninjutsu.

How can a guy with only Taijutsu in his arsenal even factor given his more experienced sensei was for lack of a better word "fodderised" by Kisame in that area at only 30%. How can Shino or his bugs even factor? You ever been to a swimming pool in your life bro? Bugs don't swim.

It was stated he can do it & taught it, so it cannot be argued against, it's not disputable. However, it has not been mentioned that Lee can activate gates past 5, it is as simple as that.

But you can't just assume he can't. That's underrating a character. Lee opened 5 when he was 13-14. Come on now. Someone has to have enough common sense to see how stupid it sounds to say he can't do all eight. No, he hasn't been shown to do more than five since the PTS series, but honestly, nobody is THAT shallow.

Ok Lee could successfully do gates at what 12, 13? 3 and a half years later and then some and you don't think gai taught him 6 or even 7? He's much faster now as well on top of drunken fist. Shino is going to be far away and eat away at kisame's chakra the entire match with his bugs. Styles make fights and kisame is going to be busy with lee while his chakra is being eaten away. take into account if lee goes into gates he will speed blitz kisame and do huge damage. Essentially kisame is going to be losing chakra and getting hit with gates level power. Shino has Parasetic Giant Insect Bug Bite which burrows into the opponent and eats away at chakra and flesh causing them to grow rapidly in size eating the opponent from the inside out. Shino also has a rotation like ability if kisame charges him. He also has a Tornado insect technique.
